Exclusive: Yvette Fielding of Most Haunted explained to The Daily Star why she believes that the locations of popular soap operas like Coronation Street and Emmerdale may be haunted.
The star of Most Haunted, Yvette Fielding, has revealed the real reason she believes Emmerdale and Coronation Street’s cast and crew have reported seeing ghostly activity on set.
Both ITV soap opera casts have previously claimed to have sensed the ghosts of deceased actors on the set, and Yvette and the Most Haunted Team saw ghostly activity while conducting an investigation at Coronation Street.
Yvette has now disclosed, in an exclusive interview with Daily Star, that she believes the activity is brought on by the energy at both places.
Energy is the key, claimed Yvette.
“Prisons, schools, theaters—anywhere with a large population.”
The paranormal investigator added that the location of where the sets are constructed may also be a factor in the activity on set because an old location’s energy can still be felt in more contemporary structures or locations.
Yvette questioned, “Something might appear to be modern, but what was the building like before, and what had happened to the land before the building was constructed?
Speaking of the Coronation Street set, which is located on what were once docklands, Yvette disclosed that she and the group believe a former RAF employee communicated with them during their Most Haunted investigation.
“There was a lot of the tapping phenomenon that we hear: tapping and knocking. We were aware of the presence of spirits and that there was definitely activity “She spoke.
“A woman who was there has been seen wearing an RAF uniform. I believe she was the one coming through.”
“She has been seen there a lot, this RAF woman,” she continued.
According to Yvette, this energy from the past and present can cause paranormal activity at a location.
“Everything depends on energy. The more energy released, the more power the spirits have to act and manifest “She spoke.
However, the casts of other television shows have also encountered ghostly activity. For instance, several Emmerdale actors joined Yvette Fielding in 2007 for the one-off special Ghosthunting with…The Dingles.
As part of the episode, Joe Gilgun, Mark Charnock, Verity Rushworth, Lucy Pargeter, and Hayley Tamaddon of Emmerdale together with Yvette investigated four haunted locations in Yorkshire.
The train museum stands out among the places we visited, according to Yvette.
“I believe that occurred in Leeds. It was obviously very late at night, there were these enormous steam engines, and it was this amazing museum. Old train cars, a wide variety of machines and engines for us to investigate, and supposedly strange things were seen in this museum. Dark shadows had been spotted inside the carriages.
When she and Joe Gilgun, who plays Eli Dingle in the soap, were startled by an unexpected noise, she recalled one eerie incident: “It was the two of us together and we’d seen something and we were running away from whatever it was.”
“I don’t even remember; there was just a sound, like a door slamming or something. He said something as we were running and laughing at the same time.
He is such a sweet, sweet person. They were all stunning. One of my favorite ghost hunting tools is that.
Such sweet, genuine, and wonderful people, but Joe, what a legend. Man is an absolute legend.
“In all honesty, the following day my ribs hurt from laughing and screaming. a combination of both. But because they were so enthusiastic about it, they made that show really fantastic.”
