The couple has taken 21 years to walk down the aisle, but will they actually make it this time?
Fiz Stape and Tyrone Dobbs’ planned wedding on Christmas Day will make this year’s Coronation Street holiday festivities extra special.
It won’t go as smoothly as Tyrone (Alan Halsall) had hoped, though, because some drama could delay the ceremony.
After twenty years together, the couple is finally getting married after recently getting engaged. Tyrone wants to wed Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) in secret on Christmas and plans to do so with the assistance of friends and family.
After everything he’s been through, he finally understands what he wants, although it took him some time to do so. He wants to prove to his family that he’s never had, and he loves and wants Fiz. He also wants all of that to happen quickly, according to Halsall.
Tyrone may have the best of intentions, but he risks disaster by deceiving Fiz.
He makes all of his plans on the spur of the moment without telling Fiz because, of course, in his mind, nothing can go wrong. He doesn’t consider any possibility that things won’t go according to his plan exactly,” the actor said.
It’s all in good faith; he simply wants Fiz to have the wonderful day he believes she deserves, but of course he hasn’t given it much thought.
Fiz is “totally clueless” in the meantime, according to McAlpine, even though the character might not appreciate Tyrone’s secrecy regarding their own wedding.
“Even though Fiz says that the marriage is everything, she still wants to pick out her own dress.
, without a doubt, and contribute a little bit,” the soap opera star said.
Tyrone suggests they have a quiet Christmas Day at home with pizza in order to keep his impending marriage from Fiz. Fiz is enraged by this and leaves her phone behind while shopping for a turkey.
“You should eat pizza if you want to, she yells as she storms out. I’ll be eating a turkey “said McAlpine.
“She sets out to look for a turkey on a country road in the middle of nowhere, but she is a bad driver. She’s in the middle of nowhere, her car breaks down, and she’s missing her mobile phone.”
Will Fiz return in time for the wedding, which she is unaware is taking place? Naturally, when Tyrone realizes she’s gone, he panics.
The point, according to Halsall, is that “he hasn’t given this any thought.”
“He obviously believed that everything would go perfectly according to plan and with no problems, but we all know that’s not the case. He enters a room that is empty except for a note saying that Fiz has left and that he cannot reach her on the phone. He wonders, “What do I do now? Christmas Day is being forfeited by some so that we can spend it together. What will take place? Will we be wed by the deadline?
