The discovery of a new Dingle sibling stunned Emmerdale viewers, but Cain Dingle was already aware of this information.
Drama for the Dingles in Emmerdale is never far away, and Christmas Day was no exception. While still imprisoned, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) blames his son Kyle Dingle for shooting Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) (Huey Quinn).
On Christmas Day, Caleb Miligan paid Cain a surprise visit, which was something he hadn’t anticipated (Will Ash). The Boxing Day episode of Emmerdale will reveal why Cain kept quiet all these years despite knowing he had a brother for many years.
Emmerdale viewers will be transported back to 1991 on Boxing Day to witness the introduction of the brothers Cain and Caleb.
The reason they split up and Cain’s decision to keep Caleb a secret from his family will be explored in this episode.
The ITV soap opera’s Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter), who recently passed away from cancer, is known to have had a son named Caleb.
But sister Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), who is sure to have a lot of questions that only Cain can now answer, was unaware of his existence.
Who plays young Cain in Emmerdale?
Aiden Kane portrays young Cain Dingle in the Emmerdale flashback episode.
After going through a number of auditions, Kane and Riccardo Drayton were chosen to play the young brothers, and this was their first appearance on television.
Despite the fact that ITV only recently revealed there would be a flashback episode, the scenes were actually shot earlier this year.
Actor Kane expressed his “relief” that it was finally made public to Digital Spy.
He said: “I told people that I was filming something but I couldn’t really say what it was.
“But obviously I told my mum and asked her to keep it on the down-low until it was announced.
“My mum is a massive Emmerdale fan, so she’s buzzing and she can’t wait.
“She’s been putting it all over Facebook and Instagram now that the news is out.
“I think she’s more excited to watch it than me, to be honest!”
Along with Drayton, Kane also worked with Maddy Barker, the actress who plays the role of young Chas Dingle. He claimed that this was probably his “favorite” scene to shoot.
During a rehearsal, Kane and Drayton also had the opportunity to speak with Emmerdale legend Jeff Hordley and newcomer Will Ash, who is acting as Caleb’s backup.
Hordley is a really laid-back guy, according to Kane.
‘If you ever need to ask me any questions while you’re on set, just give me a text or call and I’ll be happy to help you,’ he said, handing me his phone number.
When the action jumps to the present, Cain will meet his brother Caleb, who is portrayed by actor Will Ash.
He is probably best known for his three years as Christopher Mead in the television series Waterloo Road.
His other roles include those in The Tunnel, Burn It, Conviction, Clocking Off, Paranoid, and Conviction.
