Emmerdale has been commemorating its 50th anniversary on television with a relentless storm that has only brought about devastation. Here is all the information you require about what has occurred thus far.
Since the storm began earlier in October, Emmerdale fans have been fixated on the ITV soap. A picture showing the destruction it would cause was made public, and it showed The Woolpack sign being torn off its hinges. Nobody could have predicted the scope of the events that would occur, even though the photo showed debris strewn everywhere.
Who perished in the storm in Emmerdale?
Dead Harriet Finch
On October 16, the terrifying plot line began, with Katherine Dow Blyton’s character becoming the first to perish in the storm.
She was in the middle of a lightning-caused explosion when she died after falling off her quad bike.
When the lightning struck the car while Harriet was out looking for Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell), she was killed instantly.
When asked about the passing of her character, Katherine admitted: “I got very emotional reading it. On the actual day, I was covered in blood and my hair was covered in various pieces of wood.
You could literally feel sand and other debris being blown into your eyes by these large industrial wind turbines.
She explained to Digital Spy that when it came down to it, it wasn’t as emotional because the technicality of what you have to do takes away from the emotion. As a result, she was able to get through the day without crying.
Sam Dingle – Injured
When Sam Dingle (James Hooton) was impaled on some farming equipment, fans were next left screaming at their TV screens.
He appeared to be lifeless with a spike running through his entire body as he was attempting to outrun a stampede of cows that had escaped the farm.
Although the cliffhanger implied he wouldn’t survive, he miraculously did and was taken to the hospital.
The incident, according to actor James, was out of the ordinary, and he had no idea how it would turn out.
He admitted that despite appearing extremely realistic on the set, the spike was actually made of foam.
Fans will have to wait and see if he fully recovers or if his injuries eventually claim his life.
Dead: Liv Flaherty
When Liv (Isobel Steele) died in the October 19 episode, fans were devastated.
When the child attempted to go to the pub to watch over Paddy Kirk’s (Dominic Brunt) daughter, she was struck by a caravan.
She was hit while attempting to shield Vinny (Bradley Johnson) from the approaching caravan and became trapped.
Fans were heartbroken, but actress Isobel explained why she had decided to leave the soap in 2021.
She was pleased with how the tragic death scene was captured and felt her character had come full circle.
What is coming up on Emmerdale?
As the villagers clean up the storm’s debris, Chloe Atkinson (Jessie Elland) will reveal her pregnancy to Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) on Emmerdale.
Meanwhile, after Danny Miller accuses Chas Dingle of still being with Al Chapman, Lucy Pargeter’s character manipulates Aaron.
Chas can’t help but feel relieved when Aaron says he’s leaving, but she should keep an eye on her back.
Aaron might reveal his mother before making his escape plans.
Meanwhile, Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) organizes a team to repair the storm damage.
She names Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) as her deputy, but things don’t go well between them right away.
When David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) returns to assess the extent of the storm’s damage, Bernice has other concerns.
She reassures him that he will still be able to attract customers, but David is skeptic and concerned for the shop’s future.
Will he make a drastic decision regarding the company because he believes there is no hope for recovery?
