On April 3, 2022, actress June Brown sadly passed away at the age of 95.
Yesterday’s episode of EastEnders, which featured the funeral of her character Dot, paid tribute to the actress.
Three of June’s five real children, Nim, Sophie, and Billy, made an unexpected appearance at the Albert Square scene.
EastEnders executive producer Chris Clenshaw stated to thesuns.info that the program “obviously meant a lot to June” and in turn, her family.
When the celebrity moved to Ireland in 2020 at the age of 93, she abandoned Albert Square in favor of the Emerald Isle.
June was a well-known face on television before EastEnders on various programs.
These included, among others, Angels, The Bill, Doctor Who, and Coronation Street.
June received an MBE in the 2008 Birthday Honours for her contributions to the field of theater and charitable work.
In the 2022 New Year Honours, she was elevated to an OBE. The actress received praise for her performance in a soap opera as well.
She was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the British Soap Awards in 2005 and won Best Actress at the Inside Soap Awards.
She was a finalist for the 2009 BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress, but Anna Maxwell Martin of Poppy Shakespeare won.
Fans of the show were devastated by June’s real-life and fictional deaths because she was a beloved cast member of EastEnders.

Recently, he tweeted: “It just happened, but Dot’s funeral was really upsetting. After losing June Brown, it was like losing your own grandma.”
