The actress is renowned for her role as Gabby Thomas
One of the most recognizable faces on the soap opera is Rosie Bentham from Emmerdale.
Since 2016, the 21-year-old actress has played the role of Gabby Thomas in the fictitious Yorkshire village. As part of one of the soap opera’s main plotlines, Gabby is currently trying to win over Kim Tate and land a job at The Hope.
She submitted brochure designs to modernize the company in this week’s episodes. Kim broke the bad news to Gabby, saying she doesn’t believe she’s prepared to run a business.
In an interview with Mirror Online, Rosie expressed her enjoyment of the plot and her confidence that she will eventually be able to succeed Claire King as the ruthless matriarch. They’re dressing me up and giving me a sexy Kim secretary look, she complained.
It’s fun… They dress me in skirts and heels even though I arrive at work in joggers and hoodies. Actually, I’ve changed. Although Claire’s are big shoes to fill, I believe I am up to the task.
Since Gabby’s initial arrival in the made-up Yorkshire village, Rosie’s has had a significant role in the show. She quickly became involved in a heartbreaking plot that saw the death of her on-screen father, vicar Ashley (John Middleton), from vascular dementia.
Rosie experienced heartache outside of the screen when her father, a minister, passed away from a pulmonary embolism two years after the plot was resolved. “I’ll never get over the weird resemblance between real-life and Emmerdale,” the soap opera star admitted.
“The connection is just so strange for me,” she continued. Work was a blessing in that it gave me something else to concentrate on while I had two months off to let it all sink in.
Off-screen, Rosie and her co-stars have close friendships. She still keeps in touch with Daisy Campbell, who plays the character Amelia Spencer on the show.
She used Instagram to swoon over the soap opera star on her birthday in the previous year. She uttered: “Happy birthday, bestie, at age 19. I adore you most.”
Along with disclosing some of her dating red flags, Rosie also let Mirror Online into her personal life. She uttered: “When someone asks me, “So, tell me what’s going to happen next,’ that to me is the biggest red flag. At that point, it is clear that they have no interest in me and are only attempting to obtain spoilers from me.”
“I don’t think many 21-year-old boys are genuinely interested in watching soap operas, but it’s nice if someone says, ‘Oh, my gran watches it,'” the author said.
