Vicky Entwistle will appear at an event at St George’s Hall next month
Vicky Entwistle claimed that when she learned that her husband had cancer, her “world crumbled.”
For her portrayal of Janice Battersby on Coronation Street, the soap opera star is well-known. The Prostate Cancer UK Carol Concert will be hosted by the 54-year-old in Liverpool at St. George’s Hall the following month.
Vicky is passionate about the cause because her husband Andy was recently diagnosed, which led her to support the organization. “When Andy was diagnosed, our worlds began to fall apart,” she remarked.
We didn’t know a lot about prostate cancer, and any wife’s worst nightmare is to learn that their husband has been diagnosed with the “Big C.” We spent hours walking together during lockdown, just contemplating our future and what we might do next.
“We found the right path for Andy, and with the help of our fantastic NHS and all the information provided by Prostate Cancer UK, he is now cancer-free and just recently celebrated his 60th birthday in style. Men, know your risk and think about speaking to your GP if you’re in a higher risk group because we love you and need you to stick around.
More than 6,100 men in Liverpool have prostate cancer, which is the most prevalent cancer in men. The Bunker Boys and Liverpool Voice will perform songs at the concert, which will take place on December 8.
Together with Louise Minchin and Jenny Powell, Vicky will co-host the event. In memory of her former co-host Bill Turnbull, who passed away from the illness last August, Louise has joined the charity.
She uttered: “Bill made the courageous choice to disclose his prostate cancer diagnosis, and it helped save lives. All the men in the UK who discussed their risk with their doctors and the many who received the necessary tests and treatments serve as a living memorial to Bill.”
All proceeds from the concert’s £15 tickets will be used to fund Prostate Cancer UK’s life-saving research.
