It has been a dramatic week for the soap star’s character
The legend of Andy Whyment from Coronation Street is well-established.
Since 2000, the veteran soap opera actor, 41, has portrayed Kirk Sutherland on the venerable ITV program. The actor has portrayed Kirk throughout some of the most dramatic plotlines of the series, including when he was dating Fiz Brown and then Beth Tinker.
On the soap opera, Kirk had a trying week because his marriage was in trouble due to an argument with Beth. After Beth claimed she had hit Hope Stape, the main character felt he couldn’t believe her.
After she revealed to him about her first lover, Marco, he also felt envious. Kirk and Beth reconciled just as he was considering leaving their home, so the week ended happily nonetheless.
Outside of the screen, Andy’s life is considerably more stable than that of his on-screen persona because he is happily married to Nicola Willis. Thomas and Hollie are the names of the couple’s two kids, who they have together since their 2007 wedding.
In a 2017 interview with OK! Magazine, Andy gushed about his wife and declared that he is a lucky man. I’ve been punching above my weight for years; she’s stunning, he said. I’m a very fortunate man.
“Despite having been together for 14 years, we never fight. We get along great.” On Instagram, Andy frequently provides a glimpse into his joyous family life.
The coronavirus pandemic sadly prevented the family from traveling to Cape Verde in 2020. They indulged in a luxurious afternoon in their garden hot tub, refusing to let it bring them down.
Andy frequently posted updates showing the family enjoying themselves in their garden.
Andy was sharing a flat with his co-star, Alan Halsall, when he met Nicola and she hilariously admitted it took a few months for her now husband to stop acting “like an idiot”.
He was single and living with Al, she said. He wasn’t doing what I wanted him to do; he was just giving it to me big time.
The Tyrone Dobbs actor is considered by Andy to be his “best mate,” and on his 40th birthday, Andy wrote a touching tribute to him. He said, “I feel so lucky that I can call you my best friend and my brother. Today @alanhalsall turns 40, and we’ve known each other for more than 30 years.
“Have the best day on your 40th birthday. I adore you, bro.
