For a good few weeks now, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) has been missing from Coronation Street.
The character has been busy in London with her stepdaughter Lily Platt (Brooke Malonie), who recently started a six-week training program to improve her skills as a young football star.
Actress Julia, 37, used a stint in the south as a quick and temporary exit plot after giving birth to her second child in November 2022.
However, her return to Weatherfield was appropriately dramatic, which has some people wondering if she’s planning to leave the show once more.

Is Shona leaving Coronation Street?
Fans were delighted to see Shona return in Monday’s (February 20) episode.
She’s been in London with Lily since January, and was no doubt looking forward to seeing her husband David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) upon her return.
Alas, everything now seems up in the air between the couple.
David was caught trying to kiss Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) while drunk, after struggling to deal with his son Max Turner (Paddy Bever) being in prison and getting attacked.
A fuming Shona then found out about the incident – thanks to Gary Windass (Mikey North).
What a welcome back home, eh?
After betraying David, viewers saw Shona telling him she is leaving and even packing her bags.
Fans will be happy to learn that this isn’t the last time we’ll see HER, though.
Julia has previously made it clear that she won’t be permanently leaving Weatherfield.
The actor, who started acting in the popular ITV soap in 2016, recently stated that Shona probably won’t be away from David for very long.
She explained to Inside Soap Magazine: “David tries to get off with someone else every time Shona is away!”
“Because she is more cunning, the Shona of old would have [left David and the family].”
Shona and David, however, have endured a great deal of hardship together, and she genuinely loves her children and her current way of life.
She thinks it’s important to save that, which is what adults do, don’t they? After a fight, you don’t pack your bags nearly as much.
