Tammin Sursok made her debut on Tuesday with brand-new golden locks after undergoing a significant transformation for a new movie role.
When her agent called about an acting gig, the 39-year-old former Home and Away star hurried to get a last-minute makeover and said goodbye to her trademark brunette hair.
She announced she would play the lead in the upcoming film, which “shoots in Atlanta this Thursday,” by uploading a photo and a video of her transformation to Instagram.
‘Oh hi. Tammin is here. She wrote in the caption of the image of her new blonde hair, “I promise.
“Four days ago, I was driving my kids to dance class with my family. The very next moment, I receive a call informing me that I will play the lead in a movie this Thursday that will shoot in Atlanta, and I MUST BE BLONDE!
“So I begged and pleaded to see Marissa Martin, who came in on a Sunday and spent five hours perfecting this look, and now I’m accepting the unknown and allowing myself to feel all the nerves and excitement and getting ready to kick butt,” the speaker said.
The Pretty Little Liars alum continued by saying that life’s “best moments” occur when you push yourself beyond your comfort zone.
It follows her recent return to Los Angeles from Australia, where she had spent the majority of the previous year.
Phoenix, 8, and Lennon, 3, the daughters she shares with her husband Sean McEwen, were seen with her at the airport.
Prior to Neighbours’ cancellation, Tammin recently talked to Stellar magazine about what it was like to film a guest role on the Australian soap opera.
She said, “I needed to go back to a soap and make peace with that whole time, seeing it through a different lens as someone who’s much older.”
“Only reruns of Neighbours will be known to our children!” The neighbors we had were a special part of who we were, but I suppose everything just moves on.
As her guest appearance coincided with the announcement that the series would be canceled, Tammin also talked about the atmosphere on set.
Tammin said on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, “I love the work ethic of Australians… they came with such professionalism and they did their job and they didn’t moan about it and they didn’t throw a hissy fit.”
Before landing leading roles in Flicka and Pretty Little Liars, she first gained notoriety as a teenager while playing Dani Sutherland on Home and Away from 2000 to 2004.
