In Home and Away, Ziggy Astoni (Sophie Dillman) is currently living her dream of becoming a professional surfer, and she couldn’t be happier.
As viewers are aware, the well-liked character last week made the bold decision to forgo caution and set out on a new adventure in pursuit of her dream of becoming a professional surfer.
Ziggy took Dean’s (Patrick O’Connor) advice to go for the gold when she entered the competition, proving once again that he was a supportive boyfriend.
According to actress Sophie Dillman, “Dean is Ziggy’s biggest fan.” He must remain in Summer Bay for his son, but he encourages Ziggy to pursue her interests and promises to be available when she needs him one supporter and fan.
“Ziggy is ruling the world!” She is thrilled that a dream might actually be realized, that it might become a reality, and that her life might change.
Ziggy discovers the limitless possibilities when she returns to the Bay after winning the surf competition. Additionally, sponsorship offers are coming in left, right, and center.
It’s understandable why Ziggy would be shocked to learn she’s pregnant once everything starts to fall into place for her.
It’s like being hit in the head because it’s so out of left field,’ Sophie said. I don’t believe it really hits her until later. “Absolutely not, no way,” she thinks. “This is just not possible.”
She feels queasy and decides that it might be something, so she must take a test. And, sure enough, she’s expecting!
Given that she is about to fulfill her dreams, Ziggy is torn about what to do next.
It must be a very common conflict, Sophie continued, especially for someone involved in a profession like professional sport. Being pregnant while participating in professional sport is unusual, so that must be a huge challenge It’s a difficult decision to make because starting a family is a big one.
“I have a lot of sympathy for Ziggy going through this.” Whatever she decides, these are significant, life-changing moments that will have an impact on her for the rest of her life. She doesn’t have my envy. She has a stunning intellect and incredible strength in this area. I really respect her.
After giving it some thought, Ziggy confides in Dean, who responds in classic Dean fashion by being incredibly encouraging. He’s really happy, said Sophie.
“He would love to have another baby, but he doesn’t want to influence Ziggy either way because it’s her body and her decision so he’s very cautious about what she sees,” says Ziggy. “However, he is totally on board with having a baby.”
It’s unclear what Ziggy will do next, but Sophie, who concurred with Metro.co.uk that the show is currently excellent, has forewarned viewers that there will be a lot more drama.
She exclaimed, “It only gets better!” and we were thrilled. “There are amazing highs, amazing lows, amazing hardships and heartbreaks, beautiful love, and everything in between,” the author writes.
