Will he have a change of heart?
In tonight’s episode of Emmerdale (October 24), Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) was finally saved, but as he recovered, he firmly rejected his newborn baby daughter Esther.
The villagers discovered Samson was missing after last week’s devastating storm, which left Samson’s father Sam (James Hooton) critically injured and killed Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) and Liv Dingle (Isobel Steele) and left the village in ruin.
Everyone jumped into action to look for the teenager after raising the alarm, including stepmum Lydia (Karen Blick), who was frantic with worry.
After being trapped due to the unsettling weather, Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) had just given birth to their child. Amelia gave birth to a girl, but when she found out what had happened to Harriet, she became worried that Samson might never get to meet their daughter.
Viewers are aware that Samson has never been excited about having children, but his family was hoping for his safe return and thought he might change his mind. After making a promise to find Samson for Amelia, Noah Dingle’s (Jack Downham) girlfriend Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and he returned to the woods.
When all hope seemed lost, Noah noticed something that helped him find Samson, who was lying on the ground covered in leaves. He was soon taken to the hospital, where Sam and Lydia were relieved to see him.
Samson revealed that despite the storm, he had been able to crawl to a safer location and shelter. He managed to escape with a broken leg, and once he warmed up after spending three days outside in the cold, everything seemed to be in order.
But soon after, Samson was persuaded to meet young Esther, and he grudgingly complied. Samson’s loved ones were glad to see him taking care of the infant, and Amelia was happy to witness the event.
Samson told Esther that he wasn’t going to let her ruin his life, but they were unable to hear his true emotions as they waited outside the room.
Will he reconsider and develop feelings for the infant girl? Or will he stick to his guns and refuse to have children?
