Fans of Emmerdale can expect to see Rhona Goskirk change her mind about newcomer Tom King. A decade later, the newest resident of the community has returned in an effort to reignite his romance with Belle Dingle.
Tom King, portrayed by James Chase, who left the village in 2013 to live with his mother in Saudi Arabia, made a triumphant return to Emmerdale last month.
The teen was struggling to deal with the death of his father Carl King (Tom Lister), who was killed in the live special ten years ago, and fans of the ITV soap will recall this.
At the time, Tom thought Lucy Pargeter’s character Chas Dingle was to blame for the death and set out to exact revenge by terrorizing her.
After stalking her, he made the decision to permanently leave the Dales, leaving his teenage girlfriend Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) devastated.
He has since come back, though, and appears to have changed for the better as he is now licensed as a veterinarian.
However, Rhona (Zoe Henry), Belle’s close friend and the wife of her cousin, quickly gets him into trouble.
Rhona is shocked and furious in scenes that will air the following week when she learns that Tom decided to operate on Monty, Zak Dingle’s (Steve Halliwell) cherished dog, without her knowledge.
Despite his best efforts, he risks having them backfire and dash any hopes he has of fully returning to the village.
But as it turned out, Rhona must have been pleased with what she saw because she gave him a job.
According to a theory put forth by Express.co.uk, now that Tom has a reliable job, he will begin to mend fences with Emmerdale residents and possibly turn his attention to his ex-girlfriend.
Belle’s romance appears to have been teased to viewers back in February when Emmerdale executive Jane Hudson said she has something coming up for her this summer.
She said during her appearance on Loose Women: “We’ve got a bit of summer lovin’ for Belle.
“Yes, that is going to happen, but you’ll need to wait and see what happens. The love of Belle’s life will at last come to her.
You never know what could occur! But it might be the most ideal union we’ve ever witnessed.
As he must deal with Chas Dingle, not everyone may be as delighted by Tom’s return as Belle is.
The arrival of Tom could push Chas over the edge because of Paddy Kirk’s (Dominic Brunt) deteriorating mental health and the death of her lover Al Chapman (Michael Wildman).
