As her father disapproves of her new flame, Naomi will put her relationship with him to the ultimate test for Emmerdale viewers.
Liam Boyle’s troubled character Alex Moore, who is portrayed by Olivia Bromley in Emmerdale, returned to the community last week and flirted with Naomi Walters (Karene Peter). In scenes that will air on the ITV soap next week, the daughter of Charles (Kevin Mathurin) decides to ambush her father because she knows he’s not happy with the new relationship.
The last time viewers saw Alex, he was threatening Kim Tate (Claire King) and Will (Dean Andrews), who took matters into their own hands.
He later threatened to take Clemmie Reed after Dawn denied him having any involvement in raising his son Lucas Taylor (Noah Ryan Aspinall) (Mabel Addison).
Despite being in Dawn’s care, Clemmie’s biological father, Alex, would remove her permanently if Dawn didn’t pay him back.
But up until recently, the soap bad boy fled the village after being imprisoned by Kim and Will.
Naomi Walters is prepared to move on after breaking up with Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) for not being fun or spending enough time with her.
Both Dawn and her father Charles were less than pleased to see the couple flirting outside of the cafe and made plans for a drink with the returned arrival.
The vicar tries to break up the romance before it even gets off the ground because he doesn’t want his daughter to be associated with the troublesome man.
However, this only serves to draw his daughter closer to Alex, prompting him to seek Manpreet Sharma’s counsel (Rebecca Sarker).
In scenes that will air the following week, Manpreet cautions Charles that he should try reverse psychology as a different strategy if he wants Naomi to stop seeing Alex.
Later, his daughter Naomi offers to prepare the family lunch. In spite of his misgivings about her willingness to feed everyone, he accepts.
Alex and Charles quickly realize, however, that they are being tricked into getting to know one another.
Without wasting any time, he makes the quick decision to question the bad boy about his plans for his daughter while they are eating.
As Manpreet reminds him that his hostile attitude toward him is only helping to drive Naomi closer to Alex, Charles is immediately struck by her words.
Naomi decides to prod Charles while planting a big kiss on Alex in front of him because she wants to see how far she can push her father.
Charles, who is still worried about his daughter, decides to heed Manpreet’s advice and refrains from getting involved.
The following day, his partner suggests he speak with his ex-partner Dawn, one of the individuals who knows Alex the best.
Will Dawn be able to assure him that there is nothing to worry about with regards to Alex? Will she worsen the situation by telling him to keep Naomi away?
Because his son Ethan (Emile John) was devastated to learn that his partner Marcus (Darcy Grey) had an extramarital affair, Charles also has to worry about his daughter’s love life right now.
Marcus made a grand gesture to propose to his love, but after being discovered cheating on Ethan, their relationship was quickly over, and Marcus chose to leave the village.
Producer Jane Hudson hinted that there will be a lot happening for Ethan’s family this year when discussing the actor’s departure.
She said, “We will see Ethan go through a significant journey with Marcus on screen, which will result in Ethan being young, free, and single – and where will that lead us to?
