After learning that her husband Cain Dingle’s son Kyle had murdered Al Chapman, Moira Barton, who plays her character in the ITV soap, has spoken out about the future of her character.
When Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) revealed that his 10-year-old son Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) killed Al Chapman, Moira Barton (played by Natalie J. Robb) and Emmerdale viewers were left in shock (Michael Wildman). While Cain awaits his sentencing, Moira promised to remove the child from the community. The actress has now spoken out about whether or not her soap opera character will be leaving.
In a flashback special, Emmerdale explained precisely what happened when Kyle killed Al earlier this week on the ITV soap.
While Cain described what transpired that fateful night to Moira, a distraught Kyle sobbed in front of his mother Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson), explaining that his father is protecting him while he is imprisoned.
When Cain made the decision to exact revenge on Al for encouraging Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) to cheat on Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) with him, the audience was taken there.
When Kyle saw the men reaching for Cain’s shotgun, he made the decision to intervene. Kyle had followed his father into the barn where he was fighting Al.
Al and Cain begged Kyle to put the gun down, but as the boy approached, Al was fatally shot by accident.
The truth has been difficult for Moira to accept, and she is now stuck in an impossible situation.
Natalie, who plays Moira, told Metro.co.uk that she believes she has just lost her husband in a different way.
She didn’t see it coming, and I believe it was just the shock of it all that caused her to flee in order to be with Kyle and keep Kyle and Isaac together.
Cain worries that Moira may be lost to him forever after she tells him she is taking Kyle to Scotland but instead goes to Belfast.
Fans of Emmerdale have been reassured by Natalie that Moira will still appear in future episodes.
She understands it, returns from Belfast saying, “It was a blip,” is now fine, and declares, “We can make it work, we will make it work,” according to Natalie.
But the actress went on to say, “She doesn’t really know whether that is something she can do deep down.
But at this point, she believes that she must give everything because it is her true love and she is supporting a family.
Lastly, Natalie stated that her character is “fierce about her family” and will go to any lengths to maintain the group.
According to ITV spoilers, Mackenzie Boyd, Moira’s brother, tells Cain he is aware of the Kyle situation. He is played by Lawrence Robb.
Will Kyle be reported to the police or will Mackenzie let the crime go unpunished?
