Marshall, a recent addition to Emmerdale, has experienced some difficulty lately, particularly since his father Colin made him attend boarding school.
To the horror of Marshall’s homophobic father, Colin, Emmerdale newcomer Marshall (played by Max Fletcher) and Arthur Thomas (Alfie Clarke) have developed a close relationship (Mark Noble). Following a tender exchange between the kids, Colin made the decision to separate Marshall and Arthur by enrolling him in boarding school. But while Marshall hid in plain sight at Rishi Sharma’s (Bhasker Patel) house, the couple came up with a scheme to forge a letter to the school.
After noticing empty crisp packets throughout the house, Rishi believed his home to be haunted.
However, Marshall was the one making a covert location.
ITV’s official spoilers reveal Marshall to be the enigmatic figure hiding inside Rishi’s home.
Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) and Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) will observe Marshall in upcoming scenes.
Although Laurel and Jai’s kindness makes the schoolboy feel better, he is devastated to learn that Hotten Academy won’t accept him back without his father’s permission.
Colin agrees, and in an unexpected turn of events, he says Marshall can return to his original school.
Although Laurel and Jai worry that it might just be that he wants to cover up his abuse of Marshall.
Later, when Jai confides in Laurel about his worries about how taking on Marshall will affect their family, he doesn’t realize that the distraught teen is listening to the conversation on the stairs.
The following day, Colin asks to see Marshall and shows up, but Jai and Laurel aren’t persuaded by his apparent change of heart.
They do, however, agree that he can only see his son with Marshall’s permission.
When Colin tries to persuade Marshall that he’s sorry for shunning him because of his sexuality, Marshall is caught off guard by his compassionate demeanor.
Marshall is shocked when his father tells the schoolboy he loves him and tells him it’s time to come home.
Although, Colin does his best to manipulate him into coming home.
The next day Marshall is left confused as his dad continues to love bomb him with messages.
However, with Marshall feeling conflicted, it could soon have an impact on Arthur and his family.
If Marshall gives in to his dad’s demands, Colin could end up ripping his son and Arthur away from each other once again.
And if Colin succeeds, will Marshall end up betraying the person closest to him?
Fans have also grown concerned for the newcomer, with many airing their fears on Twitter.
Kayleigh tweeted: “Can Marshall just rebel against his dad please #Emmerdale.”
@RyanTheSoapking shared: “Marshall’s dad is vile.”
While @fussyMcWhiskers added: “#Emmerdale Oh no Marshall’s turned up & his nasty dad’s there!” (sic)
