As he continues to recover from his devastating stroke, Emmerdale mainstay Marlon Dingle is poised to make a significant progress just in time for Christmas on the ITV soap opera.
Emmerdale’s Marlon Dingle (played by Mark Charnock) has been undergoing physical therapy for months after suffering a crippling stroke in March of last year. The chef has recently spoken about how much he has missed working at The Woolpack. In upcoming scenes, Marlon will be back in the kitchen, according to ITV soap opera spoilers.
Chef Marlon is welcomed back to the local pub by Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) in unaired episodes.
After learning that Charity would need to hire a new full-time chef, he submitted an application.
When Marlon offers Naomi Anderson (Karene Peter) a position as his assistant at The Woolpack, Naomi is overjoyed.
Rhona Goskirk, Marlon’s wife, is depicted as being happy to see her husband back in his element in the meantime (Zoe Henry).
Has Marlon, however, made the decision to go back to work too soon?
After getting married to Rhona in August, Marlon’s recovery has advanced by leaps and bounds in recent months.
He mustered the energy to stand at the altar and say his vows to Rhona despite needing a wheelchair.
Fans have been hoping for Marlon to make a full recovery because of the heartbreaking scenes in the hour-long special that brought viewers to tears.
In an interview with thesuns.info earlier this year, Marlon actor Mark discussed the character’s protracted recovery.
“The only aspect of Marlon’s progress I can discuss is his progress,” he said. He is moving forward very slowly.
They [the writers] had to stick to this and use a very realistic time frame, “He clarified.
“They don’t want it done quickly; they want it to be authentic. As a soap opera, we are fortunate to be able to do that and take our time with it.”
“It’s a big responsibility to tell a story like this so they ought to be doing it over a realistic period of time which could be months or even years,” he added.
Will Marlon ever be able to make a full recovery or has he taken on too much too soon?
Will Rhona have to intervene if she starts to notice Marlon regressing?
Zoe and Marlon’s relationship has been going strong since they tied the knot in St Mary’s Church this summer, but could it be about to hit the rocks?
Mark stressed that although their relationship “could end next week,” “right now they are as solid as a couple can be.”
In upcoming scenes on the serial drama, the pair will be put to the test by Marlon’s return to the workplace.
Chefs have a very busy time of year around Christmas, so let’s hope Marlon can handle the stress.
