After developing a cocaine addiction, the troubled character has been desperate to get her life back on track.
Leyla (played by Roxy Shahidi), who had a drug addiction in secret, got herself into a lot of trouble and had her life hanging in the balance. Her marriage to Dr. Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) ended as a result of the ordeal, and she has since turned her attention to herself and quitting drugs. Leyla might not be free of her addiction yet, according to official Emmerdale spoilers, as an arrest could lead her back down a dark path.
Leyla was tempted to relapse after completing her rehab stay, but she was able to resist thanks to her son Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), who arrived at the exact moment and believed he had seen her about to do so.
Due to the miscommunication, Jacob decided to take matters into his own hands and confront Callum, her dealer (Tom Ashley).
During the encounter, Jacob was stabbed with a knife he had brought for protection and narrowly avoided death while defending his mother.
Since then, there has been a change in the dynamic between Leyla and Jacob, and she has been making every effort to win his favor once more.
Another blow to her life was the departure of Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade), who had relocated to London after accepting the position that had been initially promised to Leyla.
Since then, she has been spending more time with her former drug-using companion Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough).
Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) expressed concerns about their friendship and hinted that he didn’t think Leyla should spend time with Suzy.
In upcoming scenes, Leyla expresses concern that the village’s big night out might make her more tempted to relapse.
Leyla is afraid to come out, but Suzy, a good friend, reassures her and gets her to do it.
They both intend to enjoy themselves and go to the party together, putting their concerns aside for the evening.
Later on in the evening, Leyla spots Callum in the club, which causes her mood to change and makes her more susceptible to his actions.
Leyla is persuaded by Suzy to make a wise choice regarding her next move after she spots Callum in the club’s corner.
Leyla starts to record Callum’s mid-drug deal in an effort to put an end to the anxiety she experiences around him in the hopes that she can put him right.
Leyla confronts him and admits she caught him as he is handcuffed and taken away, happy that he would no longer have an impact on her life.
Suzy begs her to stop bragging because she fears that she made a terrible error.
Has Leyla just made herself more exposed by allowing Callum to get away with a warning?
After being caught with the drugs by the police, Callum might reenter Leyla’s life and trick her into dealing for him.
Is Leyla about to take yet another risky step?
Leyla and Callum have a contentious relationship, as viewers of the ITV soap opera will recall after he threatened to harm her if she couldn’t keep a bag of drugs secure.
