In upcoming Emmerdale scenes, Laurel Thomas appears prepared to take matters into her own hands regarding her son Arthur’s romantic life.
On Emmerdale, Marshall Hamston (Max Fletcher) and Arthur Thomas (Alfie Clarke) have each faced their fair share of difficulties. Laurel Thomas, Arthur’s mother (Charlotte Bellamy), soon feels compelled to lend a hand.
The chemistry between the teenagers has been growing in the ITV soap, but Colin has been putting distance between them.
He even filed a formal complaint about Arthur’s school assembly for LGBTQ+ students.
Laurel is getting ready to call Colin and confront him when she learns he was responsible for the complaint.
Marshall’s uncontrollable sobbing, though, makes her realize that this is more than just typical teenage disobedience.
As his father approaches Marshall, he is distraught and in a panic.
However, Colin catches Laurel and Marshall off guard by encircling his son in a bear hug.
Laurel’s shoulders drop when he makes the right arguments for letting his son continue attending Hotten Academy and maintaining his friendship with Arthur.
Soon after, Laurel worries about Arthur’s response to Marshall and his father’s reunion and realizes she may have made a serious error.
Chris Bisson’s Jay Sharma makes an effort to console his partner Laurel, who is obviously regretting having called Colin in the first place.
She abruptly leaves the house when Arthur informs Jai and his mother that the situation with Marshall and his father is really bad.
Laurel is committed to acting honorably for Marshall, but what course of action will she take?
Will she confront Colin and denounce him for his homophobia?
While tension exists between Marshall and his father, would she permit Marshall to reside at her home?
In contrast to Colin, Laurel has only been supportive of her son ever since he came out as gay on the ITV soap.
Marshall hasn’t discussed his sexuality with his father, possibly out of concern for his reaction.
He might be able to unwind and get to know Arthur better by staying with Laurel instead of his dad.
After Arthur told his friends about his sexuality, Marshall initially bullied him, but lately the two of them have become closer.
Marshall has tried to distance himself from Arthur because it is obvious to viewers that he is hiding his emotions, but they keep finding themselves drawn together.
If Marshall finally tells his dad about his sexuality, will that make him feel better?
