Favorite Emmerdale actor Jeff Hordley has shared information about his most recent plot, in which Cain Dingle will first meet his half-brother Caleb Miligan.
Jeff Hordley’s portrayal of Cain Dingle, the bad boy of Emmerdale, is presently incarcerated for the murder of Al Chapman (Michael Wildman). The mechanic is determined to hide the fact that Al was actually shot by Cain’s son Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn), who has since admitted to the crime.
However, after his half-brother Caleb (Will Ash) visits him in jail, Cain will experience flashbacks in upcoming scenes.
Since Caleb informed Cain that their mother Faith (Sally Dexter) had passed away 30 years prior, Cain has little faith in him.
But it wasn’t until recently that Caleb realized Cain had been lying to him the entire time.
It is evident that Cain is not pleased to see his estranged sibling, and Jeff elaborated on this in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk and other media.
The actor continued by expressing his concerns about his employers “bringing in a younger Dingle” as a replacement for his character.
He stated: “To be completely honest, when they first brought in a younger Dingle, I wondered why. Are they attempting to take my place?
“Because whenever they introduce a character that is similar to yours, you naturally become a little bit protective of them.
The moment I realized it was Will, however, I said to myself, “This is the best thing that could have happened.”
The Cain Dingle actor went on to say: “Caleb seems to have been present for a very long time.
“The characters are so masterfully written. Will does a really good job of capturing his charm in it.
“There is a relationship between Cain and him. Despite his dislike, it is clear that he also finds something to relate to.”
Viewers will see a flashback episode that depicts the first time Caleb and Cain met as kids before Caleb arrived in the village.
Jeff said, “You get to see a young Cain and Caleb when they first meet.
And the reason he claims that his mother is dead is because he used telling people that she passed away as a coping mechanism after his mother let him down.
And since that is how he handles it, that is why he told Caleb what he did.
Jeff claimed that Cain pushes Caleb away when they first meet on Christmas Day because the mechanic already has enough on his plate with Kyle.
Because of Cain’s lies about Faith, Caleb is also very angry with his brother.
Regarding his plot and whether Caleb is seeking retribution, Will added: “At first, even though he has a grudge against him, he wants to connect with his family.
Even though there is a kind of simmering resentment and bitterness, he wants to have a relationship with Cain and Chas in order to connect with them.
