Jeff Hordley, who has played the town bad boy Cain Dingle on Emmerdale since 2000, is no stranger to becoming involved in complex plotlines.
After recently receiving a troubling phone call, Charity (played by Emma Atkins) plans to involve Cain in her most recent drama. Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), Charity’s fiancé, has also been on edge since becoming pregnant by Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) during a one-night affair. After experiencing what it’s like to be abandoned by family in a time of need, Charity recently welcomed Chloe into their home, but is she really telling the whole truth?
Emma recently spoke with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield of This Morning about the plot and upcoming stunt scenes.
When asked about Charity’s enigmatic phone call, Emma said, “I think it’s because everything is going so well in her life right now.
Because Chloe obviously resides in the home and she is helping her, she keeps sending her to bed, she is only fixing this [baby] mobile.
“I believe that because of Charity’s past abuse, her past, and the fact that she gave birth to a child at the age of 13, it resonates with her.I believe that will increase the suspense even more, but she receives a call that completely throws her off balance; I won’t say what it is, but it will be enormous.
Speaking on upcoming scenes which air tonight, Phillip asked: “So this involves a bit of a car stunt.”
Emma excitedly explained: “It does, I got to do my own stunt! I loved it, and I asked if I could do it and they were like ‘Are you sure?’
“The guy who owned the Bentley was looking and thinking, ‘Jesus…’ and I was like, ‘I am happy to do it, please! Honestly, trust me.’
“I had to, I just pulled out of this tight spot and went down towards the church and there is a gate and Jeff [Hordley] was next to me going, ‘Emma seriously now stop’.
“I guess he became a little concerned. Since he is similar to my brother, he was somewhat worried that I was… I adore working with him—how could I not?”
Mack has grown more uneasy about Chloe’s presence throughout last night’s episode, but things changed when Charity got a call with some mysterious information.
In tonight’s episode, Mack was concerned about her strange behavior because she was clearly shaken by the news she received.
She grabs a bottle of vodka and leaves for the village as she tries to make sense of the news she heard on the phone.
While on a phone call of his own, nearby Caleb Milligan (William Ash) is too preoccupied to notice that he has dropped his car key.
When Charity sees the key, she picks it up, brings Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) along because she feels compelled to go, and then she starts looking for the source of her discomfort.
While many fans are certain that Mack and Chloe’s relationship will be revealed over the phone, others have another concern.
User @charleywales1999 said on Twitter: “The passing of Zoe Tate, in my opinion. I believe this call will be to inform Charity and Noah that Zoe has passed away and left money for Noah because we already know from the previous posts that Noah is expected to inherit money from Zoe.”
echoed @nikki ch xx: “I believe it has to do with Zoe Tate because she leaves Noah a large amount of money or shares, giving him the right to dominate Kim. They have been complaining that Kim spends too much money on her lifestyle for this reason.”
“I think it’s something about Noah’s dad’s sister Zoe leaving something for him,” wrote @erinbreen28. @sianelizxx left a comment “I believe Zoe is deceased. I believe the new girl who has joined will be her daughter.”
“It has something to do with her past life,” @margy 1954 continued, “something to do with Zoe and inheritance money that’s left to Noah.” (sic)
