After watching his son Kyle attack Carl, Cain Dingle of Emmerdale worries that he is a bad role model for Kyle. Then the village bad boy makes a tragic choice.
In upcoming scenes, Jeff Hordley’s character Cain Dingle decides he should avoid Kyle at all costs. Fans of Emmerdale are aware that Cain and Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) are embroiled in a custody dispute, but he will decide that Kyle moving away is best next week. According to actor Jeff, Cain has a “epiphany” regarding his son’s future.
The situation changes next week when Kyle and Carl King get into a violent altercation.
Amy is horrified when Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) threatens to report Kyle to the police.
Kyle’s behavior is quickly attributed to Amy by Cain, but both of them beg Nicola not to call the police.
Finally, Amy is able to convince Nicola to change her mind, which causes Cain to feel bad.
The local tough guy believes that the community believes Kyle’s violence is a result of his parenting, and he tells Moira Barton (Natalie J. Robb) that they must release him.
Cain, who is horrified by Moira’s reaction, believes that he is a bad influence on Kyle and does not simply want to give Amy sole custody of his son.
Cain insists nonetheless, asking Amy to leave with Kyle so he can restart his life.
As she tells Cain he’s making a mistake, Moira is inconsolable.
Speaking about the storyline, actor Jeff admitted there was “a lot of self-loathing on Cain’s part”.
“He knows that he flies off the handle,” the Emmerdale star said.
“Kyle is witnessing this constantly, and now he’s starting to hit out at people.”
He added to TvTimes: “Cain thinks: ‘Maybe that’s down to me.’ It’s a big moment for Cain to admit that to himself.”
Jeff revealed Cain is committed to doing the right thing for his family.
However, he admits his moral compass “isn’t set in the right way” and “his reasoning is sometimes a bit off”.
Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins), who goes out with Ethan Anderson, experiences a setback in another part of the village (Emile John).
Victoria initially intends to set Ethan up, but she quickly realizes that the potential suitor, Sean, is actually into her, and she gradually lowers her guard around him.
When Sean suggests that they take a cab home together, a panicked Victoria soon follows with a panic attack.
Victoria experiences flashbacks to her last major night out with Lee.
Will she be able to move on and perhaps develop a romantic relationship with Sean?
