The new nanny Nicky and Gabby on Emmerdale have become closer over the past few weeks after the mother of one took a shine to him when he was interviewed.
Fans of the ITV soap opera Emmerdale now believe they know the real reason newcomer Nicky is reluctant to start dating Gabby Thomas.
Since Gabby, a single mother, took an immediate liking to Nicky when he was interviewed, the two have been getting closer over the past few weeks.
Sparks started to fly between the two when he was subsequently hired to watch the children at Home Farm, as Gabby was in the middle of advancing her career and putting her Jamie Tate romance behind her.
Nicky pushed her away after explaining that he wanted to maintain a professional distance between them.
Fans of the ITV soap are now speculating that Nicky’s decision to end his relationship with Gabby may have been motivated by another factor and that the two may actually be secret siblings.
After learning that Gabby’s father, Ashley, was stalked by another woman while still married to Laurel, some keen viewers believe Nicky might be Gabby’s long-lost brother.
An individual speculated on Facebook that “a woman (the wife of another vicar) was stalking him years ago, when Ashley first started showing signs of Alzheimer’s.”
“If I recall correctly, she put him to sleep before quickly leaving. Could this be her and Ashley’s son, who is looking for Gabby, his sister?
Another supporter quickly added, “Could be right… which is why he shoved her away!
While another Twitter user echoed the statement: “Saw a post earlier this week that suggested Gabby might be Nicky’s long-lost sister in Emmerdale. I think it’s a good theory if Ashley had a child before he wed Laurel.
The timelines, according to another user, don’t quite add up, so any missing siblings for Gabby would have needed to be born before Ashley moved into the village.

Many fans point to Nicky’s sexuality and wonder whether he has ever been in a relationship with Jamie Tate as potential reasons for Nicky’s rejection.
One fan theorised: “I think Nicky is working for Jamie Tate and could be Jamie Tate’s secret lover? I think he’s gay… wait and see first.”
“I wonder if Jamie is secretly gay and is having an affair with Nicky?” someone else pondered, as a third fan said: “Judging by that knock back, Nicky is working for Jamie or he’s gay or he’s already in a relationship.”
“Good theory, I did wonder if he was gay,” someone else agreed.
