Some cherished characters were killed off in the recent Emmerdale 50th anniversary plot as a frantic storm swept through the village.
Kevin Mathurin, a Charles Anderson actor, discussed the passing of Katherine Dow Blyton’s character Harriet Finch, an Emmerdale police officer, saying it was “a shame” she had to leave. The ITV soap star said the twist caught him off guard, adding, “It was a shock to me.”
Explosive scenes from last month showed a fierce storm destroying the village.
Sadly, Harriet went outside in it to assist in finding Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell), who was lost and in trouble.
She made the decision to board a quad bike so she could travel through The Dales more quickly and easily, but the storm threw her off a hill before the quad bike crushed her.
After that, when the quad bike exploded, poor Harriet had no chance.
Kevin commented on the intense scenes and his co-sad star’s exit, saying, “It was a shock to me too!
I enjoyed working with Katherine on my scenes, and the two of us got along well. In addition, I thought Charles and Harriet’s relationship was excellent.
Kevin praised the soap’s memorable stunt despite the surprise.
He continued, “It’s a shame, but with all the action and the stunts and everything, it was a great send-off,” in his interview with Inside Soap.
Katherine remembered the following after leaving her soap: “Reading it made me very emotional.
“On the actual day, I was covered in blood and my hair was covered in various pieces of wood.
Sand and other debris were literally being blown into your eyes by these large industrial wind turbines.
She continued, “So when it came down to it, it wasn’t as emotional because the technicality of what you have to do takes away from the emotion, so I managed to get through the day without crying,” according to MailOnline.
Emmerdale’s Liv Dingle (Isobel Steele), a fan favorite on the soap, also perished in the tragedy, making Harriet not the only victim.
Quick to share their reactions, viewers expressed how much the special anniversary soap had meant to them.
Back then, a user of Twitter named Rosie Bentham Fans wrote: “Gabby going to be devastated to hear liv have died [sic].” Emmerdale, why are you doing this to us? My heart simply cannot endure this any longer.
Claire K added, “Why kill Liv after bringing Aaron back to reconcile with her? Heartbroken.”
“Full on sobbed like a baby at Liv, what a horrible and heartbreaking end,” Alexandra said.

Jenni Harrison expressed her complete and utter anguish, saying, “#Emmerdale why do this to me! Stupid Liv
Darryl “Goodbye Liv #Emmerdale,” Jason wrote. Such a heartbreaking conclusion to a remarkable character that @Isobel steele so brilliantly portrayed. I hope she has a successful future!
