According to executive producer Jane Hudson, Cathy Hope, a young character on Emmerdale, will be at the center of a significant plot line in upcoming scenes, marking a first for the soap opera.
The character of Cathy Hope, played by Gabrielle Dowling, sobbed and stormed out of the village choir audition during Thursday night’s episode of Emmerdale. Merry Christmas to All, Cathy sang as the villagers gathered around her on the stage. April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), on the other hand, appeared to be mocking the adolescent during her performance rather than encouraging her friend.
Cathy stormed out of the cafe in tears before she could finish the song.
Bob, her father (Antony Audenshaw), quickly ran after her and inquired as to what was wrong.
Bob yelled after his daughter, “Cathy.” “Hey love, you were awesome,”
The teen cried, “I wasn’t,” as Bob said, “Yeah, it was everyone was enjoying it.”
Cathy retaliated, “It was rubbish they were trying not to laugh.
You just don’t get it at all, it was disgusting.
Bob was alarmed by Cathy’s outburst, and things will get worse for the youngster in subsequent scenes.
Producer of Emmerdale Jane Hudson spoke exclusively to thesuns.info and other media outlets about Cathy’s main plot.
When the young cast reaches a certain age, Jane said, “you suddenly realize they’re growing up.”
You think, “Oh my god, we need to start growing them up in the show,” when they suddenly appear after being off-screen for a few weeks and are a foot taller and have deeper voices.
“Cathy, after about three years of keeping her at 15, she finally said, “You do know my character is 18 now.
You’ll see a really big storyline for Cathy, Bob’s daughter, because I told her, “Oh gosh, yeh, we need to grow you up.
It’s her first major story, and it’s a difficult one. It’s really emotional.
She continued, “I think a lot of the parents will relate to it.
And a big one is coming up for Cathy because it’s something I’ve never seen a soap opera do before.
April told Cathy about her feelings for Arthur over the past month (Alfie Clarke).
Cathy assured April that she would speak on her behalf if she was too afraid to approach Arthur.
However, when Cathy got involved, things took an unexpected turn.
And when April was rejected by Arthur, everything fell apart for her.
But will April seek revenge on her fictitious friend and will she be a character in Cathy’s plot?
