Cain Dingle’s actor Jeff Hordley, a legend of Emmerdale, has hinted that he knows what Caleb Milligan’s secret plan is.
Will Ash’s character Caleb Milligan debuted in Emmerdale in December as Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley’s) long-lost brother during the holiday season. Viewers of the ITV soap opera have been left in suspense about Caleb’s true motivation for visiting the village due to his enigmatic behavior. Actor Jeff has teased he’s got a “inkling” about his brother’s hidden agenda as fans continue to scratch their heads.
Caleb revealed to Cain that he had been courting everyone at Home Farm lately in an effort to seize control of it.
The newcomer may not have been telling Cain the whole truth, though, based on his cryptic phone calls to an unidentified person.
I’m not entirely certain [what it is], but I have a sneaking suspicion — and no, I’m not going to tell you what it is, Jeff teased.
Will is a good friend of mine, and I’m just thrilled to have him on board, the 53-year-old actor told TV Times.
“I think the character has got a lot of gravitas, and Will is a fantastic actor.”
When the Emmerdale hard man was asked what will happen to Cain in the coming months, he explained: “More stuff with Caleb, and hopefully a bit of harmony for Cain and Moira [Barton].
“We don’t have many couples in the show that are true to each other, and it’s nice to see a bit of stability.”
Jeff also said it would be good to stay well away from affair storylines at the minute.
I’m not a producer or a writer, but the beauty of being in a show like this is there’s always a new challenge to play,” he continued.
On social media, viewers have been discussing their theories about Caleb for months. Many have questioned whether he is an undercover police officer or a drug lord.
He is believed by some fans to be the boss of drug dealer Callum Matthews (Tom Ashley) and was implicated in the terrifying kidnapping of Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) last week.
Leyla, who wanted to exact revenge on Callum, wound up becoming a victim of kidnapping after he placed her in a car’s trunk.
Before she decided to meet with the dangerous dealer alone, Caleb gave her some advice in the village graveyard which left fans suspicious.
Vicky penned: “I don’t know why but does anyone else think Callum’s boss is Caleb? #Emmerdale.”
Paul added: “Calling it now, Caleb is in charge of the whole drugs operation #Emmerdale.”
Mike commented: “I’m wondering if Caleb is the boss of Callum? Caleb can be very sneaky. Just my opinion #Emmerdale.” (sic)
@Asupergav, who thinks Caleb is an undercover cop, shared: “Caleb’s very observant on what Paddy [Kirk] was wearing. Worthy of an undercover cop, I deem #Emmerdale.” (sic)
Westie remarked: “Caleb has to be an undercover cop or something. #Emmerdale.”
@Quimnz theorised: “I’m convinced this Caleb is an undercover type of cop or agent or something, he’s way too calm with Cain #Emmerdale.”
