Following Friday night’s heartbreaking episode of Emmerdale, viewers have begun to worry about Arthur Thomas.
While Arthur Thomas, a young character in Emmerdale played by Alfie Clarke, has recently taken a backseat, viewers were made aware of the schoolboy’s difficulties during Friday’s ITV episode. As Arthur sat by himself in the cafe, it appeared that he was thinking a lot, and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) felt that something wasn’t right.
Nicola tried to get Arthur to open up, but before she could, Arthur vanished.
Later, April (Amelia Flanagan), Arthur’s love interest, revealed to Rhona (Zoe Henry) that “something was off” with her friend.
A wall in the village hall was being painted when Arthur (Jack Downham) and Marcus (Darcy Grey) joined them.
When the schoolboy was questioned about his relationship with April, however, things took a turn.
Who among your two performers is talented? Arthur responded: “We’re just friends,” Noah questioned.
teasing Noah “Right? However, are those friends with or without advantages.”
Marcus chimed in, “You can’t ask him that,” and Noah later added, “He still hasn’t responded.”
Marcus made an attempt to change the topic, but it was obvious that Noah wasn’t going to do so.
Noah made fun of Arthur, saying, “I imagine he has a secret he doesn’t want to share with us.”
He’s just trying to wind you up,” Marcus said, prompting Arthur to yell, “Shut up.”
Arthur, who was obviously upset, fled, but he was later seen sobbing by the grave of his deceased father, Ashley (John Middleton), who passed away in 2017.
Following Friday’s episode, viewers took to social media to discuss their predictions for Arthur’s plot.
Many people think the child is hiding something, and others have expressed worry about what might happen next.
Another fan speculated that Marcus might be involved in his plot.
“When April was trying to tell Arthur that she liked him, I questioned whether he might be gay. #Emmerdale, “@BovaryCee asked in a post.
“Bless Arthur – think he’s confused about his sexuality,” wrote user @lindibea on Twitter.
lauded by Laura Lou “The scene with Nicola and Arthur was wonderful. Exceptionally well done. Additionally, there will be more. Alfie Clarke and @nicola wheeler deserve praise.” (sic).
“Is Marcus trying to suss out if Arthur is gay?” Doreen Morfitt asked.
Felix Wood tweeted: “Er I’m confused, why did Marcus and Noah’s conversation make Arthur go to Ashley’s grave!?!? #Emmerdale.”
He later said: “Yeah Marcus seems to guess it, could see Arthur coming out to him.”
While Owen theorised: “It’ll end up that Marcus will support Arthur at some point won’t it?”
Chris P went on to say: “Does Marcus sense Arthur’s dilemma?”
