Amy Wyatt and Matty Barton, a couple from Emmerdale, have recently struggled as a result of Kyle Winchester’s custody dispute.
Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) was shot and killed by Kyle (Huey Quinn) of Emmerdale, and his father Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) accepted responsibility for it. Due to Kyle’s bail conditions, Cain was not permitted to see him, so Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson), who was caring for Kyle, made the decision to pursue full custody. She finally gave up the fight, though, after considering Kyle’s wishes and realizing she had neglected her relationship with boyfriend Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano).
In upcoming scenes, Amy and Matty are thrilled as they decide to move past their differences and proceed with their engagement,
They tell a confused Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) in the Hide about their engagement, and they are worried about how she will react.
Soon after, Victoria confides in Amy and Matty, saying a chance encounter with a man during a night out brought back memories of her rapist Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie).
Keeping an eye on her, Ethan Anderson (Emile John) counsels her to forget about last night and find someone new.
Will Victoria’s hearing about Amy and Matty’s news reopen old wounds?
How will Amy and Matty respond when Victoria ruins their special day?
Amy recently expressed her belief that Cain had a negative influence on his son and made the decision that she wanted to leave with Kyle and Matty for a new beginning.
She quickly abandoned her plan, though, after realizing she didn’t want to punish her son for their errors.
Cain expressed his belief that Amy and Matty ought to relocate to Belfast with Kyle in order to give the youngster a fresh start, much to Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J. Robb) surprise.
Asked by Amy: “You desire that we depart. Were our jobs affected?” It would be too difficult for Kyle to constantly see me around the village, Cain insisted.
To hard for you, you mean? Moira entered and made a remark.
Later, when Amy revealed her U-turn choice, she drove Kyle around to Cain and Moira’s home so he could see his father.
We’re not going; I can’t take him away from you, she said. We have to act honorably.
Kyle has the right to determine his own course for the future. It just doesn’t feel right; it feels like we’re punishing him for our errors. I’m not going to give into his tears.
Kyle responded, “I know right from wrong, I’m not like you!,” as Cain questioned him, and then he asked Amy, “So I can live with them? Forever?”
If your dad is on board, Amy retorted. He looks up to you, Cain. Never undervalue what that implies.
Cain wanted Amy to be a part of it, so he told her that she can help parent Kyle, but only if she makes things right with Matty.
Amy agreed, but things quickly went awry when she stepped on his toes by letting him know why she had been ignoring him.
He was willing to drop everything and move to Belfast with her, but she explained that she “couldn’t deal” with him on top of everything else she was dealing with, leaving him to blow up.
He admitted that he had only come back to their house to pack his belongings and that he needed some time to think about whether or not they should stay together.
After reconciling and accepting Amy’s marriage proposal, the couple has started to look forward to their future.
