Daisy Campbell, who plays Amelia Spencer in Emmerdale, has spoken candidly about her character’s traumatic labor experience.
Amelia Spencer, a teenage girl from Emmerdale who is played by Daisy Campbell, experienced the shock of her life when she gave birth early and by herself in a barn in the middle of a terrible storm. Fortunately, Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) was able to locate Amelia and transport her to the medical facility. Fans of the ITV soap opera are anxious to learn if Amelia’s baby survives, and the actress who portrays her has shared how she prepared for the character’s difficult labor.
Emmerdale is still experiencing damage from Storm Week, and several characters’ lives are still in jeopardy.
On Wednesday night in yet-to-air scenes, Amelia and Lydia arrive at the hospital as Lydia’s grueling labor progresses.
When they get to the maternity ward, Lydia tells the medical staff why Amelia’s labor started weeks earlier than expected.
Along with Amelia’s worried father Dan Spencer (Liam Fox), Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and her partner Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) rush to her side.
Will Amelia and her unborn child be in good health?
On Sunday night, during the 50th anniversary special of Emmerdale, Amelia went into labor.
Before an unexpected windstorm swept through the Yorkshire Dales, she was scheduled to meet her boyfriend Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) for a date outside the village.
In a panic, the child sought refuge in a deserted barn and soon realized she was giving birth early.
She was left screaming in agony as her contractions began, but fortunately Lydia found her hours later and dialed 911.
Actress Daisy shared her preparation for the upsetting scenes with Express.co.uk and other media outlets.
“It’s such a difficult thing for anyone to go through, but because Amelia is so young, she’s only just turned 16,” the actress, 19, said.
She is so perplexed when she goes into labor because she initially has no idea what is happening.
Daisy said after reliving the spooky scenes: “Because going through that and filming it was intense, and because I enjoy doing intense scenes, I’m happy with it now.
“I was jogging and performing star jumps in between takes because I needed to be out of breath when I was filming it because I knew I had to just go for it.
But now that I’ve seen it, I can unwind because I’ve put in all the effort.
It wasn’t apparent that we were filming an episode of Emmerdale, she continued, and it was one of her favorite filming days ever.
The barn was supposed to be over the hill from Emmerdale, but in reality, Daisy said, it was out in the middle of nowhere.
It’s really lovely, but they had to make it look awful with the storm, she said.
When Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) learns that Amelia has been taken to the hospital in a hurry, will he make a hasty trip to be by her side?
