In Thursday’s episode, Cain Dingle seemed to mend fences with his long-lost brother Caleb Milligan.
Since his arrival in the hamlet, Caleb Milligan (William Ash) has aroused suspicions among Emmerdale viewers about his true motivations. While the rest of the Dingle clan welcomed the newcomer with open arms, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) has been wary of his sibling. ITV fans think the Dingle stalwart is perfectly within his rights to be apprehensive of his brother despite Cain’s change of heart in Thursday’s hour-long episode.
When Cain praised Caleb for backing Kyle Winchester’s (Huey Quinn) legal struggle to free him from prison, it seemed as though they had reached an understanding.
In order to defend his son, the worried father initially served time in prison for the murder of Al Chapman (Michael Wildman).
Kyle grappled with remorse, though, and turned himself in to the police.
Since then, Cain has been frantically looking for a means to set his son free.
Caleb intervened and offered to pay for costly attorneys who could assist Kyle.
Thanks to his uncle’s assistance, the child was given bail and permitted to go back to the village.
In the episode airing on Thursday, Cain had a change of heart and resolved not to let his past betrayals stand in the way of his future success.
Cain’s unexpected warmth surprised Caleb, but the two enjoyed a pint and a game of darts in the Woolpack.
The episode ended with Caleb telling an unknown caller that his plan to overthrow Cain was in action, but the reunion was too good to be true.
He said to the mystery caller on the other end of the line, “We’re finally making progress. He is continually reeled in until we achieve our objectives.
Fans of Emmerdale believe that Caleb may be employed by newbie Nicky (Lewis Cope), who is Dawn Taylor’s (Olivia Bromley) nanny at Home Farm.
“I suspect Caleb is working with Nicky,” tweeted BovaryCee. He’s still enraged about Cain’s fabrication of Faith’s death, and he wants retaliation. #Emmerdale.”
Why does the credits simply include “Nicky” and not a surname, Aldismaldi questioned? He appears to be Caleb’s son (thus the Dingle) and on the prowl for Home Farm. #emmerdale.”
“So I believe Caleb and Nicky are pursuing Cain and Kim on behalf of #JoeTate. (Keeping my fingers crossed that Joe will return!) #Emmerdale,” said Coxyhockeychick.
“My instinct thinks Caleb and Nicky are working together #emmerdale,” Sonderchord concurred.
Is Nanny Nicky Caleb’s child? “#emmerdale,” wrote LJBigBird.
Meanwhile, Emmerdale spoilers suggest that Caleb and Chas Dingle may clash in the future (Lucy Pargeter).
In the episodes airing the following week, Caleb gets in the way of Chas and Paddy Kirk’s (Dominic Brunt) romance.
Chas expresses her disgust with Caleb’s behavior clearly, but will that be sufficient to deter him from entering?
