Fans of Emmerdale can expect some shocking Christmas revelations, but Cain Dingle’s half-brother unexpectedly appearing in the village will come as a surprise.
Will Ash, a former Waterloo Road actor, has been cast as the troubled Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) long-lost brother, who will arrive in The Dales and cause a stir with the already troubled family, according to the ITV soap opera. Fans will learn that Emmerdale stalwart Cain has kept his brother’s existence a secret from sister Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) since the two were teenagers in explosive Christmas scenes. Could the Dingles’ dramatic showdown result from the unwelcome visitor?
It doesn’t appear as though the Cain and Chas family conflict will be resolved by Christmas.
The murder of Al Chapman (Michael Wildman), for which Cain is being held responsible, caused a rift between the siblings.
When Cain discovered Chas was having an affair with Al, she confronted the two men. Chas was having an affair with her husband Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt).
Chas is unaware that the trigger that actually resulted in Al being fatally shot was actually pulled by Cain’s young son Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn).
The two have recently argued, but Cain is determined to keep his son safe, so his sister is unaware of the truth.
Emmerdale executives have revealed that Will will be a part of the Dingle family this Christmas as the successful and well-connected businessman Caleb Milligan.
When Caleb unexpectedly shows up during the festivities, Cain is likely to be confused.
Caleb grills his brother with challenging questions during their reunion, which is tense.
According to the soap opera, when Chas learns what her brother has been keeping from her for so long, it will make things between Cain and her even worse.
Laura Shaw, a producer for Emmerdale, said: “We are over the moon to welcome Will Ash to the Village.
“It’s wonderful to have an actor of this caliber and talent join our fantastic team.
“Caleb has to be without a doubt the most unexpected and shocking Christmas present Cain and Chas have ever received, arriving on screen on Christmas Day!
“At first glance, Caleb is everything his brother isn’t: calm, in charge, wealthy, and successful. But will they discover they have more in common than they initially thought?
How will the rest of the family react when Caleb walks into town? What secrets from the past will come back to haunt them?
“His arrival certainly promises to shake things up for the Dingles and make 2023 start off with a huge bang,” she said in her closing statement.
When Will Ash said: “I’m ecstatic to be working on such a classic program.
“Emmerdale has so many great actors, and I’m looking forward to working with them all.
I’m eager to dive into Caleb’s fantastically complex character.
Fans will be geared up for an action-packed holiday episode because Christmas is always a major event in the soap opera calendar.
Will Caleb’s arrival be the first of many secrets to be revealed in the village, where there are already so many kept?
It’s possible that a major family conflict will have dramatic results.
