Nicola King from Emmerdale will be terrified that her attackers will escape justice as Naomi Walters becomes involved in a blackmail plot during the trial.
A challenging week lies ahead for Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler), as the Emmerdale attackers’ trial gets underway. Although Naomi Walters (Karene Peter) is adamant that she is innocent, will the vicar’s daughter’s testimony in court result in her being imprisoned while the real criminals go free?
Fans of Emmerdale will be aware that Naomi admitted to being present during Nicola’s attack but maintains her innocence.
The stalwart refused to accept her apology despite the fact that she claimed she was afraid of Saskia (Sarah Kay-Sweeney) and the group who hurt Nicola.
In the episodes airing the following week, Naomi is taken aback when Saskia’s lawyer asserts that following a recent altercation, the defendants were no longer friends with her.
The defense attorney charges Naomi with staging the attack in order to exact revenge on the girls.
Later, when Naomi’s attorney dominates her on the witness stand, Nicola is left speechless.
The stalwart is having a hard time coping at home as she realizes the gang might get away with attacking her.
Naomi worries that even though she told the truth on the stand, she will still go to jail elsewhere in the village.
The encounter leaves Naomi shaken when she runs into Saskia the following day in the restrooms.
If Naomi doesn’t alter her account of what happened, Saskia implies that she owes her money and threatens to harm her family.
Saskia is cross-examined by the prosecution’s attorney back in court, but she maintains her composure.
The lawyer contends Saskia has no justification for lying while Naomi has already admitted guilt.
Naomi admits to Charles Anderson (Kevin Malthurin) and Ethan Anderson (Emile John) that she isn’t optimistic as she gets ready to explain her version of events.
During the cross-examination by the defense attorney, Naomi sobs and admits Saskia intimidated her into keeping quiet.
Both Nicola and Naomi worry that their desired outcome won’t be realized when the trial is over.
While Naomi is certain she will go to prison, Nicola still fears that she won’t receive justice.
The stalwart withdraws while considering the possibility of the gang being let loose.
By telling Naomi they are proud of her for being honest, Charles and Ethan are attempting to cheer her up.
Will the jury recognize Saskia’s fabrications or will they find Naomi guilty of a crime she didn’t commit?
Since the attack, Nicola has endured excruciating pain and is still processing what happened.
She might finally be able to move on if justice is served, but if the gang escapes punishment, she might be left fearing the worst.
