As her grief deepens, Chas Dingle of Emmerdale might be about to reveal her relationship with the recently deceased Al Chapman.
Viewers witnessed Al Chapman’s (Michael Wildman) murder by Chas’ brother Cain (Jeff Hordley) last week after he learned of their liaison. Although their past partners haven’t known about their infidelity, it might soon be made public. Chas’s grief for Al makes her husband Paddy (Dominic Brunt) suspicious in scenes that will air the following week.
Emmerdale viewers have witnessed the tragic deaths of four characters over the past few horrifying weeks.
Viewers have seen Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter) leave the soap opera and a storm take the lives of Liv Flaherty and Harriett Finch (both played by Katherine Dow Blyton) (Isobel Steele).
The most recent Emmerdale victim, though, was Al Chapman, who was eliminated by Cain after having an affair with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter).
Although Paddy and Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) have kept their rendezvous a secret from their partners, everything may soon be made public.
According to official Emmerdale spoilers, Chas is surprised in scenes that will air the following week when Al’s fiancée Kerry tells her that the funeral is tomorrow and asks if she’ll go with her.
But after giving it some thought, Kerry is informed by Chas that she should go to Liv’s send-off rather than the funeral.
Chas breaks down in a sob-filled heap as she pushes Paddy away and decides to leave as Vinny opens Liv’s urn and prepares to let her go.
Later on in the Woolpack, when Chloe, Dawn, and Billy all return from Al’s funeral, Chas becomes distracted.
Even though she makes an effort to hide her feelings, she is shocked to learn that the turnout was low.
Outside of Keepers, Kerry collapses in front of Chas as she experiences the same level of grief, slipping the order of service into her coat as she leaves.
Paddy is sent back to the house when his wife, who had been reading Al’s order of service covertly, then let out her angst and rage.
It doesn’t take long for Paddy to confide in Lydia as he begins to wonder if there might be more to Chas’s intense grief over Al.
According to an Express.co.uk theory, Paddy visits Cain to express his worries about his wife as he starts to feel lost.
As he observes his brother-in-law inconsolable over Chas’ erratic actions, he advises that he demand explanations from his wife and maintain his position.
Following his advice, Paddy confronts Chas and asks her why she feels so strongly about Al’s passing.
Could Chas be about to lose it and finally admit her long-running secret affair now that her emotions are at an all-time high?
Although Al’s departure shocked viewers, actor Michael Wildman admitted that there had been no real reason for him to stay over the previous 18 months.
Speaking to the Mirror, he said: “His son Ellis had gone, and so when our executive producer rang me to say, ‘We are thinking of letting Al go’, I told her, ‘I am with you – so long as Al doesn’t leave in a taxi’.
“Last night, Al most definitely went out with a bang, just as I had hoped he would. I’m overjoyed. The 50th anniversary celebrations have been fantastic, and now would be a wonderful time to pass away.
