Emmerdale tough guy Al Chapman and Cain Dingle have been at odds for a long time, and when a sinister secret comes to light, it appears that they will fight to the death.
On the ITV soap opera, Cain Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) will at last learn that his sister Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) has been having an affair with Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) by using his adversary Al Chapman (Michael Wildman). In upcoming Emmerdale scenes, the two men are expected to square off, but which one will escape with their lives?
In yet-to-air scenes, Chas maintains her composure when her brother interrogates her about her breakup with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
Aaron, who views the local veterinarian as a father figure, is aware that she has been having an affair behind Paddy’s back but is unsure of how to handle the situation.
Cain is shocked to discover a string of messages from an unknown number revealing an affair when he hears Chas’ burner phone vibrating.
Al picks up the phone thinking it’s Chas when Cain decides to call the number. Al is unaware that he is being called by his enemy.
As he hears Al’s voice on the other end of the line, Cain’s expression becomes more melancholy.
The soap icon uses the phone to set a trap out of a mix of anger and grief.
Al later expects to meet with Chas, but instead he is greeted by a tough Cain brandishing a shotgun.
Al is being held at gunpoint by a vengeful Cain, who is utterly disgusted by his liaison with Chas.
Al starts to walk away as his confidence rises, but Cain says the gun was just a distraction, and he gets ready to fight Al.
The fight turns violent as the men begin punching each other.
When both of their eyes are drawn to the shotgun that is nearby, they both make a valiant effort to get there first.
Who has been shot by whom is not immediately clear as the shotgun blast resounds.
When a gunshot blares out of the village, Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) and Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) are startled to hear it, but what will they discover when they look around?
Jeff, who plays Cain, said earlier this year to thesuns.info and other media outlets: “I think Al and Cain have been circling each other for quite a while, and they have probably been circling each other because of Covid.
The sensible thing to do was to keep my distance from him due to Covid, but if he finds out, this will have consequences.
However, they wouldn’t be the kind you see in November, in my opinion.
When interviewed alongside Jeff, the show’s producer Jane Hudson teased, “It’s Emmerdale, so there is usually a murderer lurking around the corner.”
“There are going to be some fantastic family arguments,” she continued.
Will Cain or the dishonest businessman Al turn out to be the murderer in question?
