Due to the menopause she is experiencing, Emmerdale hairdresser Bernice Blackstock has not been feeling like herself on the ITV soap opera. In the scenes that will follow, she must now make a crucial choice regarding her future.
On Emmerdale, Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) has been experiencing emotional, agitated, and flustered feelings lately. She later learns that she is going through the menopause, but she does not appear to know how to deal with the symptoms. She will soon need to decide how to proceed with her career, according to ITV soap opera spoilers.
Bernice battles with her diagnosis in unaired scenes as she experiences menopause and loneliness.
Bernice yearns for her own possessions and regrets quitting her job at the salon despite Gabby Thomas’ (Rosie Bentham’s) encouragement.
Soon after, Bernice (Lisa Riley) is persuaded by Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) and Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) to swallow her pride and ask Mandy Dingle (Joshua Richards) for her old job back.
Viewers will remember that she left the show after spraying Bear with the shower hose after he made a sexist remark about her.
Later on in the cafe, Bernice finds a joker card that was left over from the morning’s poker game and wonders what it means.
She will soon make an offer; will it be to Mandy or to another company looking for employees?
Will Mandy still be willing to forgive Bernice for her egregiously unprofessional actions?
She might feel ready to return to work to keep herself busy if she can control her symptoms.
Bernice was “mortified” to discover she was experiencing the menopause during the most recent episode of Emmerdale.
She admitted to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Laurel that she wished the earth would engulf her.
“I haven’t had a period in four months, but I’ve been feeling lousy for weeks, and I convinced myself it was something else.
“I knew I couldn’t be pregnant, but I was praying it wasn’t this,” she said.
“Now that I’ve realized it is, I just can’t stand it.”
Laurel continued, “The menopause is entirely natural,” in an effort to cheer Bernice up.
Oh stuff natural, I’ve noticed that men don’t get it because if they did, there would be a cure, yelled Bernice.
Half of the population experiences the menopause at some point in their lives, Laurel reminded Bernice as she poured herself a large glass of white wine.
Fans of Emmerdale have been discussing Bernice’s condition on Twitter.
Why does Bernice believe she’s too young for the menopause, wondered Cinders?
said Annie Sugden: “Bernice, it’s menopause, menopause, menopause! It needs to be said, and #Emmerdale needs to be discussed.”
Someone should introduce Bernice to HRT (hormone replacement therapy) in Emmerdale, Lil continued.
