Next week on Emmerdale, is Chas’ affair secret about to be revealed as she finally recognizes what she has…?
The Butlers Farm family is still debating what is best for young Kyle (Huey Quinn) after his return to school the following week.
Matty (Ash Palmsciano), Kyle’s stepbrother, thinks it will be best for everyone if they report Al Chapman’s (Michael Wildman) death to the police. He makes every effort to convince Moira (Natalie J. Robb) and Amy (Natalie Jamieson) that this is the only course of action. Matty has only recently discovered the tragic truth about Al Chapman’s (Michael Wildman
Moira and Amy start to worry about Kyle’s unpredictable behavior when he refuses to go to school, claiming that he misses his dad Cain (Jeff Hordley), who is currently in jail while taking care of Kyle.
Amy, who is desperately trying to keep everything hidden, is eventually forced to make a deal with Kyle: if he enrolls in school, she’ll see if Cain will agree to visit him in jail.
While Moira does not support Kyle’s decision to visit Cain and is upset that their united front is disintegrating, she agrees to carry out the plan in the hopes that meeting Cain will somehow benefit Kyle.
But what if it has the opposite effect?
The following day, Matty tries to persuade Amy and Moira to think about getting Kyle some professional help, but little do they know that Kyle has overheard every word. He’s eager to see his dad, but he’s feeling worse than ever right now.
In the prison visitors’ room, Kyle finally gets to see his father after several weeks, and he is overcome with guilt. Amy and Cain are concerned that they made a mistake as the young boy begins to cry and has a difficult time controlling his emotions.
The visit was intended to reassure Kyle, but it has had the exact opposite effect! More than ever, the couple is concerned that their son might be a loose cannon and that their secret might be discovered.
As Chas is compelled to disclose to Belle the extent of her relationship with Al, the other major Dingle family secret appears to be about to be revealed (Eden Taylor-Draper). Despite the fact that Belle had seen Al and Chas leaving a hotel together back in August, Chas was able to persuade her that everything was over, and Belle agreed to remain silent.
Next week, when Chas discovers some of Faith’s belongings, she gets emotional and appreciates Paddy (Dominic Brunt) being there to comfort her. While she was prepared to flee with him at the time of Al’s death, Chas is now realizing that the grass wasn’t always greener on the other side.
Chas is more appreciative than ever of her family as she and her daughter Eden (Bella James) decorate the Christmas tree, and this feeling is only strengthened after a meal with Rhona (Zoe Henry) and Marlon (Mark Charnock). Chas believes she can now fully focus on savoring her devoted family and relegating Al to the past, where he belongs.
How could she have ever considered leaving him? Chas is secretly ashamed of herself when a loved-up Paddy surprises her with a gift.
However, as Chas makes the decision to move on, there are rumblings in other parts of the community.
It doesn’t take long for Belle to realize what is going on when Chloe (Jessie Elland), who has been determined to find out who Al was cheating on her mother Kerry (Laura Norton) with, reveals that Al was dining with his mystery woman at the Westgrove Hall Hotel on the night that Faith (Sally Dexter) passed away.
It’s the same hotel where she saw Chas with Al, so it’s clear she lied when she said her relationship with him was over.
When Belle questions Chas about where she was that night, she is forced to admit that she did have a relationship with Al up until the day he passed away, which puts Chas in an awkward position.
Things start to make sense for Belle when she speculates that Cain actually “killed” Al for this reason, and Chas struggles with whether to concur with Belle’s theory.
Chas is thrilled when Paddy says he’s planned a surprise vacation for the family because he is terrified Belle will tell the family everything. She may be able to move on with her life after things have calmed down during her absence.
While this is going on, Belle collapses in front of Moira and spills all the information she has about Chas and Al. As Moira learns that this was the crucial piece that Cain had withheld from her and the main reason he had initially confronted Al in the barn, she becomes furious.
Their family has been torn apart, and Chas is to blame.
The following day, Chas is excited to be leaving for her trip and is getting ready for it. But will she be exposed to the terrible truth about her deceit sooner than she anticipates?
