Natalie Robb has been romantically linked to a number of residents on Emmerdale farm, but her real love life is just as colourful as as it is on the ITV soap
Emmerdale star Natalie J Robb has had her hair share of romances on screen as Moira Dingle, but her love life off screen is just as interesting as on TV.
On the ITV soap, Moira has had her fair share of affairs. She has been married twice, firstly to John, who she tired the knot with in 1990. She ended up dating and marrying Cain Dingle.
She had a romance with Alex Moss, an affair with her brother-in-law James Barton, an affair with her stepson Nate Robinson, and an affair with Cain Dingle, whom she later married.
According to Mirror Online, actress Natalie has been very candid about her love life, explaining why her relationship with her co-star ended and how she occasionally feels judged for not having kids or being single at the age of 48.
Co-star romance
Natalie dated Dr. Liam Cavanagh co-star Johnny McPherson. During the lockdown, the two got to know one another and became close. They moved in together shortly after that.
She believes that moving in together was their downfall because things became “too intense too soon” after they first became friends. “Unfortunately, there was additional pressure because it was the Covid era. During the first lockdown, he moved in with me, and it was just too intense and sudden “She gave The Sun an explanation of their breakup.
“And if you’re not used to that, which I hadn’t been for a while, we realised pretty quickly that we were better off as friends.”
Feeling judged
Since joining the ITV soap opera in 2009, Natalie has said that she has experienced “judgment” for not having children and for being single in her late 40s.
She insists, though, that having a child is not something she has ever wanted to rush into and that she wouldn’t want to do it by herself.
“I used to face criticism for not having kids. Everyone would be asking, “What? You are single and don’t have any children. You have to be insane. But I just never experienced that urge to say, “Oh my god, I have to have a baby,” “She spoke up.
“I didn’t want to go and do something like that on my own. It has to be the right situation.”
Dating woes
Despite feeling judged, Natalie insists she won’t be rushing into a new romance any time soon – and she won’t be on the dating apps.
“I have no time to date anyway. I would rather wait for the right person to come along, I’m not in a hurry,” she told The Mirror in 2017, “I am definitely not on Tinder or anything like that. Oh my goodness. Could you imagine Mucky Moira popping up on someone’s phone?
“Nothing against other people who want to do that, but I’ll wait for the right person to come along.” She explained: “I don’t know whether it is with social media now, but the dating scene and apps like Tinder have stopped people going out to meet as much as they used to do. I would rather meet someone by the way, fate bringing us together.”
Revealing who her dream man would be, she shared: “Who would be my dream man? One who doesn’t talk back to me, one that can put me in my place. Somebody honest, loyal and who makes me laugh.”
