A beloved coworker who spent more than five years on the ITV serial drama Emmerdale has said goodbye to the Emmerdale cast.
On Friday night on ITV, Sharon Marshall’s final episode of Emmerdale aired, in which Amy Wyatt (played by Natalie Jamieson) declared she wanted sole custody of Kyle Winchester, the son of her and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) (Huey Quinn). The 51-year-old author stated to her social media followers that working on the Yorkshire-based soap for the past six years has been a “absolute joy.”
Sharon wrote on social media while posting a photo of herself grinning in front of the Woolpack: “My last Emmerdale is tonight at 7.30pm.
It has been an absolute joy and privilege to play in the Dales for six years, but I’m off to new writing pastures now.
Along with a heart and a sheep emoji, it said, “I’ll hugely miss the fabulous team.”
“
Following her announcement, Sharon received a flood of letters, many of which were heartfelt odes from the Emmerdale cast.
Bernice Blackstock, who is portrayed by actress Samantha Giles, said: “You’ll be missed. Many blessings and best wishes for your future endeavors.
“I saw your name on the screen tonight and even commented on it,” Sharon Matthews wrote. I wish you luck on your upcoming adventure because I know you’ll rock it.
I’ve said it before, but you’re one of my favorite show writers, Roo said. Therefore, you will have a following wherever you go (even if it’s just me and my wife in Canadialand).
“Thanks for all the wise counsel, amusement, and sorrow. Looking forward to your future endeavors. (sic)
“Please go to #Corrie they need someone like you ASAP,” Robbie Kane advised. (sic)
Others who were watching wanted to know if Sharon would keep discussing the soap operas on This Morning.
While Sharon responded to some well-wishers, she did not respond to inquiries about her This Morning soap gossip segment.
Over the years, Sharon has contributed to nearly 50 Emmerdale episodes.
Sharon, who is referred to as The Soap Expert on This Morning, has also written episodes of the BBC One soap opera EastEnders.
In July 2018, she and her partner Paul Fletcher welcomed their daughter Betsey into the world.
With Kyle on trial for murder and Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) coming to terms with Chas Dingle’s (Lucy Pargeter) adultery, Emmerdale has been on fire lately.
Paddy’s destructive behavior becomes out of control in upcoming scenes, according to ITV soap opera spoilers.
When Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) offers to assist, Paddy ultimately lashes out at him.
Only a few months have passed since the death of Vinny’s wife Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele), but Paddy’s pain has taken over his thoughts.
Vinny, who is bursting with his own grief, scolds Paddy for being so self-centered. Will the men be able to mend fences and proceed?
