After flashback episodes reveal the first time young Cain Dingle meets his half-brother Caleb Miligan, Emmerdale may see history repeating itself.
Cain Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) will receive a surprise visit from his estranged half-brother on Christmas Day while he is imprisoned (Will Ash).
The newcomer to Emmerdale, however, might be planning on getting even now that he knows Cain has been lying to him for 30 years. They have already crossed paths because when they were teenagers, Cain turned Caleb away and informed him that their mother (Sally Dexter) had passed away.
When Caleb learns that Faith had passed away more recently, he starts looking for Cain.
The mechanic was convicted of killing Al Chapman and is currently incarcerated (Michael Wildman).
However, Cain is really just covering for Kye Winchester (Huey Quinn), his son, who is the real murderer.
Viewers will learn more about Cain and Caleb’s past during the visit.
Fans of Emmerdale will see how the two met in a flashback episode.
When Cain and Caleb first meet, “you get to see a young Cain and Caleb,” Jeff told Express.co.uk and other media.
And the reason he says his mother is dead is because he used telling people that she passed away as a coping mechanism after his mother let him down.
And since that is how he handles it, that is why he told Caleb what he did.
The soap star continued, addressing Cain’s connection to Caleb: “Cain does have a connection with him.
Although he doesn’t like it, it’s clear that he also finds something to connect with.
Will continued, talking about Caleb’s plot and whether or not he wants to exact revenge on Cain: “He comes in having this really kind of dark and tortured backstory of having been put into care as a child.
When he was 16, he discovered Cain and sought to reunite with his family. Cain informed him that his mother had passed away and advised him to stay away from them.
He therefore enters it with a great deal of resentment and anger.
Later on, he added: “Although he has a vendetta against him, initially when he comes in, he wants to connect with his family.
Even though there is a kind of simmering resentment and bitterness, he wants to have a relationship with Cain and Chas in order to connect with them.
Executive producer Jane Hudson of Emmerdale talked openly about the flashback episode.
On Christmas Day, Cain will receive a visit from his brother, she said, adding that Cain is still incarcerated.
“You’re going to meet him soon, and I think viewers will fall in love with him.
“Therefore, when Caleb visits Cain in jail, we will learn that Cain was aware of Caleb and had known about him for thirty years.
And on Christmas Day, we’ll go back to 1992 to learn how Cain and Caleb first met, why Cain rejected him from his life, and what Chas (Lucy Pargeter) was up to at the time.
