Mandy Dingle, a stalwart of Emmerdale, will experience heartache after Vinny follows in the footsteps of his father Paul Ashdale.
Vinny Dingle from Emmerdale, played by Bradley Johnson, has been having a hard time accepting the death of his beloved Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele). Following a terrible storm, Liv abruptly left the ITV soap after being run over by a caravan. Not only was the child killed by the storm, but Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) also perished.
However, Vinny’s behavior has gotten worse ever since that tragic day, and his mother Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) is concerned about him.
According to confirmed spoilers, Mandy asks Jimmy King (Nick Miles) to speak with Vinny on her behalf.
Later, during a game of cards, Vinny finally confesses his feelings to Jimmy.
Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), after witnessing Vinny humiliate Jimmy at poker, invites the pair to a game at the bar.
Later, other villagers are drawn to the poker game.
Vinny quickly feels at home as Ryan (James Moore), David (Matthew Wolfenden), and Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) join the original three.
Darren’s entry into the pub, where he is also interested in the game, quickly diverts Mackenzie’s attention.
The following day, Vinny, Mack, and Jimmy get together for another game of their covert poker.
However, as they conceal their activities from vicar Charles, the poker games soon turn into a secret (Kevin Mathurin).
Soon after, more members of the community join in, and Vinny is happy to be distracted from Liv.
The beautician is furious when Jimmy tells Mandy what they have been up to in the interim.
Mandy lashes out at Vinny, accusing him of becoming his father in a fit of rage.
Vinny would be hurt by this remark, but if his gambling spirals out of control, could history end up repeating itself?
Jimmy is left feeling guilty as well because he is aware of what Paul caused Vinny and Mandy to go through (Reece Dinsdale).
The following day, before playing poker with Darren, Mack and Vinny talk strategy in the cafe.
But is everything getting out of control? What response will Mandy have to Vinny’s actions? Could there be a crying fit?
On the day of his and Mandy’s wedding the previous year, an explosion killed Vinny’s father Paul.
Mandy also learned that her partner had been savagely mistreating their son.
The Dingles had a difficult time dealing with it, and Mandy has never been able to forgive herself.
Vinny also struggled to get over the abuse, and ever since Liv passed away, he has been inconsolable.
