After Friday’s episode, Kerry Wyatt dropped the bombshell that she was Chloe Harris’ real mother, leaving Emmerdale viewers perplexed.
After shocking viewers with a family secret, Emmerdale stalwart Kerry Wyatt (played by Laura Norton) has become the focus of a significant storyline in the ITV soap. She admitted she is Chloe Harris’ real mother, and that her boyfriend Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) is having an affair with someone else behind her back (Jessie Elland).
On Friday, viewers observed Chloe telling Kerry about her pregnancy.
Kerry, however, was shocked to learn that Mackenzie Boyd was the baby’s father from the newcomer (Lawrence Robb).
Kerry offered Chloe a place to stay with her and Al in an effort to persuade her to remain in the village.
Kerry didn’t know, however, that Al had actually intended to live with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter).
As Chloe said she had already made up her mind to leave, Kerry shocked the audience by admitting she was Chloe’s real mother.
After Chloe announced that she was leaving, Kerry argued, “It doesn’t make any sense.”
So what if things are a little awkward with Mackenzie?
What could be so awful that you would have to up sticks and leave, she subsequently questioned?
Chloe answered, “I’m pregnant,” to Kerry’s question, “Are you keeping it?”
Before pleading: “I don’t want Mackenzie to know anything,” she said, “I haven’t decided yet.”
Chloe responded, “Look, this is my life and I have to start living it,” after Kerry tried to persuade her to stay with her.
You can’t go, Kerry yelled as Chloe started to walk away.
Kerry said, “Please don’t hate me,” and Chloe asked, “Why would I hate you? ”
Kerry continued, “I ought to have spoken up earlier. I’m your mother.
Fans, however, weren’t persuaded by the plot, and many posted their own theories on social media.
Many questioned Kerry’s sincerity after learning that they thought Amy was her only child (Natalie Ann Jamieson).
Tammy questioned: “I think it makes zero sense for Kerry to suddenly be Chloe’s Mam. Pretty cheap “twist,” in my opinion.”
Danielle remarked: “Is Chloe’s mother Kerry? #Emmerdale I didn’t see that coming.”
While @BovaryCee, a user, tweeted: “Whoa, what? Kerry, how many kids have been left behind in the area of Emmerdale? How is your daughter Chloe doing?”
Furthermore, how is Kerry Chloe’s mother doing? Mike queried.
User @ihatetomhicks criticized the plot and added: “Is Chloe’s mother Kerry? Not yet in April.” (sic)
