Fans of Emmerdale have predicted that there will be yet another cheating scandal in the near future, which will leave one resident devastated.
Emmerdale is infamous for its turbulent relationships, which invariably result in one partner having an extramarital affair with a villager. The most recent couple to find love through a scandal was Victoria Sugden and David Metcalfe, played by Matthew Wolfenden and Isabel Hodgins, respectively. David was dating Meena Jutla, a serial killer (Paige Sandhu), when he realized he was in love with Victoria and started seeing her secretly. Emmerdale fans are concerned for Victoria now that they appear to be happy together because they believe David won’t be faithful and will end up cheating on her.
Last week, David went back to see the damage caused by the deadly storm, and Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) confronted him to help the village get back on its feet.
David is worried about the setback because she reminded him that he must start attracting customers again.
Following the coronavirus pandemic, David already experienced a setback with the shop, struggling to pull himself out of bankruptcy.
He fired Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) out of panic over the shop closing and then attempted to commit insurance fraud.
After Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) was attacked by a group of girls and caused a minor collision in the street, he was desperate enough to exploit her.
Victoria eventually intervened to assist him after observing the lengths to which he would go to maintain the integrity of his insurance.
The relationship between David and Victoria, according to some ITV soap opera viewers, won’t last, and they worry he’ll cheat on her.
Emmerdale fans were adamant David would cheat on Victoria in the coming months when the topic was brought up on Reddit.
@JonLeePButler, who did not believe in their romance, started the thread by saying: “Won’t surprise me if they turn David into a wife beater.
Is anyone else noticing that he behaves differently when he is around Victoria? Every time he speaks with Victoria, I detect this domineering, patronizing, and hateful attitude.
“Did it tonight, only five minutes back after a storm, all grateful with Bernice saying how long it took to clear up, soon as to see Victoria and is already showing her who’s boss,” Bernice said. “Anyone else it’s ‘yes ma’am, no ma’am, three bags full ma’am.
He’s too much of a hopeless romantic, so they won’t turn him into a wife-beater, theorized @ShizMcGee2020 in response to the comment.
But because he is a serial cheater and an idiot, and because Victoria is so painfully beige, I don’t see their relationship lasting longer than a year.
@Gaiaa1116 I simply don’t believe they go well together, everyone agreed. But I don’t see him as a wife beater. He’ll most likely cheat on her.
He cheats on everyone, so it wouldn’t be at all surprising, @Bloodlines 44 continued. They are such a bland couple when he Meena at least there was fire with Victoria.
Insisting, @Pm713 said, “Not really. I believe he’s just a simpleton who is irritable because he can’t understand why his stock has vanished.
Thank goodness he’ll soon deceive and presumably depart with his shop effectively closed.
“If he’s willing to cheat with you, then he’s willing to cheat on you,” simply stated @DMike82.
Will David be tempted by a wandering eye given that he has previously cheated on his partners? Or, after months of lusting after Victoria, will he remain loyal to her?
David might be forced to make some difficult decisions in order to keep his business afloat due to the pressure of getting the shop back on track after the storm.
