Since he first claimed to be Cain Dingle’s half-brother and moved into the village, Caleb Milligan has aroused suspicion among Emmerdale viewers.
When Caleb Milligan (Will Ash), a newcomer to Emmerdale, first moved into the community last year, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) was immediately displeased. No one in the village is aware of Caleb’s occupation or family situation, so he has remained a mystery to them. After Al Chapman’s passing, he initially appeared to be whiter than white as he attempted to assist Cain and Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) (Michael Wildman).
He also revealed a different side to viewers when he offended Will Taylor (Dean Andrews).
But in the episode that aired on Tuesday, Caleb counseled Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) after she got into more trouble with drug dealer Callum (Tom Astley).
Caleb came over to Leyla as she was sobbing on a bench and enquired as to what was wrong.
He inquired, “Are you okay?” to which Leyla responded, “Yeah, I’m fine.”
Caleb went on: “You can tell me to do one if you want. You don’t look ok to me.”
“I’ve got some stuff going on in my life, you know,” she explained.
When quizzed on what was bothering her, Leyla added: “You don’t want to know.”
“What’s the worst that can happen?” Caleb asked as Leyla said: “I think someone wants to kill me.
“He put my best friend in hospital yesterday, he tried to kill my son and now I think he wants to kill me.
“He keeps picking us off one by one and I am doing my best not to be scared.”
“I think we need a proper chat, don’t you?” Caleb told her.
Following the episode, fans took to social media in droves to share their thoughts on the storyline.
Many questioned why Caleb was offering Leyla advice, pointing out that he might be an undercover cop.
Others appear to believe that he might be related to recent arrival and drug dealer Callum.
But how will Cain respond when he learns that his brother has been lying about his identity for so long?
@RyanTheSoapking, a Twitter user, shared: “Caleb is now offering advice to everyone. He has never had my trust. #Emmerdale.”
Later, he wrote: “Does Caleb know Callum, I wonder? #Emmerdale.”
@ShaneF_Official quizzed: “Is Caleb an undercover police officer? #Emmerdale #Caleb.”

While @leahallen77 theorised: “Just a thought is Caleb involved with Callum is that why he’s suddenly giving Leyla advice & whatever or Alex? #Emmerdale.”
