Viewers of Emmerdale are certain that Paddy Kirk will make contact with an old flame now that he is aware of his wife Chas Dingle’s scandalous affair.
On Thursday’s episode of the ITV soap opera Emmerdale, Dominic Brunt’s Paddy Kirk, a fan favorite, was heartbroken when Chas Dingle’s (Lucy Pargeter) affair with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) was finally revealed. Before Al was killed, Paddy confronted his wife about her infidelity after learning of it. Many viewers think the heartbroken veteran will get back together with Mandy Dingle because he appears determined to break up with Chas (Lisa Riley).
In the dramatic double-bill of the serial drama on Thursday, Paddy approached a country cottage and inquired as to whether Chas recognized it as the home Al had bought for her.
When Chas realized Paddy knew she had been having an affair behind his back for months, the penny finally dropped for him.
Paddy confirmed that Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) had told him the heartbreaking news while maintaining his composure.
“She thought I deserved to know the truth and she thought I deserved better than you,” he explained.
When Chas inquired as to how her husband had learned about the cottage, Paddy replied that Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) had informed the locals that the late businessman had purchased it as a “bit on the side.”
When Belle told me you were leaving me, Paddy said, “I didn’t really think about it, but it kind of all fell into place.”
A regretful Chas told Paddy “none of it seemed real” to which Paddy said: “Maybe that is because your brother shot [Al].”
Chas tried to justify her affair by telling her husband it was “an escape” and a “release” which “snowballed” out of control.
It didn’t take long for the majority of the Dingle family to learn about Chas’ relationship, and Moira Barton, Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) partner, reprimanded her for her self-centered behavior.
No matter how much he secretly loved Chas, Paddy made it clear that he had no desire to interact with her and that he would be happier without her.
Fans of Emmerdale found it difficult to witness Paddy so upset as he embraced his father at the conclusion of the poignant episode.
But due to Chas’ adultery, many people believe Paddy may reconcile with Mandy.
