Fans of Emmerdale have expressed their disappointment that a beloved character plans to leave the village.
After Justin, a newcomer, was impressed by Priya Sharma’s work at Take A Vow, she accepted a job offer in London. Priya Sharma is played by Fiona Wade. Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), who had intended to leave Emmerdale and begin a new career in London, was enraged when she learned the news. In the most recent episode, the two argued, and as viewers sided with Priya, they expressed their sorrow at her impending departure.
When David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) learns that Priya and their daughter Amba are departing later this week, he is incensed.
In order to stop Priya’s action, he kidnaps the child and takes her to a cottage with his son Theo.
When Priya learns that her daughter is missing, she is devastated and makes threats to call the police.
Leyla rushes to find David before the police arrive after realizing he is the father of the kids.
Spoiler images show Priya reuniting with her daughter, Amba, despite David’s refusal to see reason and surrender Amba.
David and Priya reach a decision, and Priya bids the village farewell.
Fiona’s announcement of her departure earlier this month informed ITV viewers that Priya would be leaving.
Fans, who are heartbroken to see her go, criticized the soap on Twitter for “underusing” her.
“#emmerdale really under used Priya as a character,” tweeted user Redbay37. I sincerely hope Fiona succeeds because she deserves better and bigger things.
It’s difficult to leave a regular show; hopefully her bravery in taking the risk pays off greatly.
Leah Allan added, “Priya, keep going. She will be missed, though, #Emmerdale.
“Priya, go! Though I’ll miss her, #emmerdale,” tweeted Caroline 196600.
“Everyone who has left recently, if they weren’t killed, has left for a job opportunity,” TVJuice jokingly remarked. Vanessa, Tracy, Kerry, and now Priya? Could they not have thought of something more original? #Emmerdale.”
“With Priya gone, it’ll be one less reason to watch Emmerdale #Emmerdale,” wrote Super Gav in a post.
I will miss Priya. #Emmerdale, Alan Nelson tweeted.
As writer Sharon Marshall revealed, Fiona’s final episode of the popular soap opera Emmerdale aired on Friday.
She shared a photo of herself outside the Woolpack on Instagram along with the caption, “My last Emmerdale is tonight at 7.30pm.
It has been an absolute joy and privilege to play in the Dales for six years, but I’m off to new writing pastures now. I will sincerely miss the amazing team.
