The explosive 50th anniversary episodes of the ITV soap, which will air in the upcoming weeks, will feature multiple characters passing away, according to Emmerdale producer Jane Hudson.
Fans of the ITV soap opera Emmerdale have been counting down the hours until the landmark is reached on Sunday, October 16. Just as Kim Tate (played by Claire King) and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) are about to exchange vows, a terrifying windstorm is predicted to sweep through the Yorkshire Dales, affecting the entire village. In light of the devastation, producer Jane Hudson has now confirmed that certain characters will be leaving the program.
The 50th-anniversary episodes, according to Jane, will focus on a catastrophic storm that completely blindsides the villagers this summer.
With the anniversary episodes airing in just a few weeks, Jane has provided some additional details about what ITV viewers can anticipate.
It was a real honor for her to be in charge of Emmerdale at this time, she told Express.co.uk and other media on Thursday.
It is an emotional rollercoaster, and there is visual input that, to put it mildly, “will blow more than your socks off,” said Jane.
She implied that although there were deaths and destruction, there were also genuine moments of intimacy, heartache, and love.
“Our characters will be put to the test in terms of both their emotional and physical fortitude.
I must forewarn you that there will be many tears, and we will witness how our community handles the fallout from this terrible storm.
The return of Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), who defended his half-sister Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) after she was attacked, marked the beginning of the month of drama, according to Jane.
Only a few days later, he discovered his mother Chas Dingle’s (Lucy Pargeter) affair with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman), and was incensed that she had betrayed Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), the man he regards as a father figure.
Another plot involves Faith Dingle’s (Sally Dexter) “incredibly sad” passing after a cancer battle.
Faith has had terminal cancer for several months and is near the end of her life.
When asked about the storm plot that will be featured this week, Jane teased: “Just when you think things around the Emmerdale characters can’t get any worse, it really does. We will go into our storm, which has more than one stunt throughout the week.
We finish the month with a bang that carries us into the New Year.
Jane was unable to reveal any additional details regarding the soap opera’s departing cast of characters.
Given that Liv is rumored to be leaving the ITV soap this month, it’s possible that she perishes in the terrible storm.
If she passes away, her husband Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson), who has been hoping to conceive with her, would be devastated.
Isobel, the actress who plays Liv, “feels like she’s done everything she can at Emmerdale and wants to focus on her music career and make a real go of it,” a source told The Sun.
Isobel’s departure will not differ from the way the bosses have thrown everything they have at the 50th anniversary month.
“As it all plays out and Liv is killed off, viewers will be on the edge of their seats.”
