Recently, Emmerdale has seen its fair share of affair drama, but one unfortunate couple may experience more as a result of a misunderstanding.
Recently, Leyla Harding (played by Roxy Shahidi) has struggled and is working to reclaim her life. A misinterpretation from Leyla, according to official Emmerdale spoilers, could cause a beloved couple to be torn apart on the ITV soap. However, chaos appears to be following her around the village. Will they be able to resolve their issues or has Leyla permanently damaged the pair?
Leyla is touched by Jai Sharma’s (Chris Bisson) kindness in later scenes, but she interprets it incorrectly.
It occurs as he visits her after hearing that she has filed for divorce from Liam Cavanagh and received a decree nisi (Jonny McPherson).
She leans in for a kiss after mistaking his warmth for something more.
Jai is mortified when his girlfriend, Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), discovers all of this.
A furious Jai tells Leyla he can no longer be the one to stand by her after Laurel storms off.
Instead, Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) agrees to intervene and help the distressed villager.
Leyla’s life is continuing to spin out of control, and recently she lost her family and a few of her friends.
Laurel and Jai have experienced some difficulties together over the years; could this latest obstacle be the final straw?
The audience may wish that Laurel will comprehend that Leyla is just a troubled person and that the error had no significance.
However, given their past together, Jai might find it difficult to persuade Laurel that he had nothing to do with the kiss.
Laurel might find it difficult to trust Jai because he has previously told her lies.
After Laurel broke up with Jai for lying to her about their finances and use of drugs, the couple only recently got back together.
Laurel decided to end things last year when Jai took out a loan in her name because he had money problems and lied to her about it.
After she didn’t believe Jai when he claimed the drugs found at Take A Vow weren’t his, things only got worse.
They appeared to have resolved their problems at this point because they decided to try again in September.
Just a few months later, Laurel will unavoidably doubt Jai’s sincerity once more.
Leyla might try to convince Laurel that the kiss was entirely her fault in the end, but will she be convinced?
The couple will probably be reluctant to have to inform their kids of their separation yet again.
To provide their children with a more secure future, their decision would therefore need to be permanent.
