After years of “patiently hoping for children,” actor Stephen Rahman-Hughes of EastEnders and his wife welcomed two baby boys just 18 months after giving birth to their daughter.
Stephen Rahman-Hughes, a cast member of EastEnders, and his wife welcomed twins just 18 months after the birth of their daughter.
The actor who portrayed Adam Bateman on the BBC One series posted a heartfelt photo of himself holding his young sons.
As he announced their names, Stephen proudly held his new babies.
The new father posted on social media and stated: “Major news! My life has changed drastically today. TWINS!!
“After witnessing my wife, Anjali Mehra, deliver two gorgeous boys instead of just one, I am in awe and in pieces.
We are overjoyed that Sonny and Remy have joined our clan and that their arrival was so lovely.
He continued, “If only Juney was here to welcome her new grandsons,” in the touching post. Even better than that would have been that.
Some people will recall that Anj had an incredibly difficult time giving birth to Aphra (only 18 months ago), so it couldn’t have gone more smoothly.
The father began by explaining how long the couple had waited to start a family.
“They say ‘double the trouble but double the joy,’ and we fully expect to have a riotous time with our 3 little precious angels,” Stephen continued in the post.
“We wished and tried for so long patiently hoping for children. We have been truly blessed and are so grateful.
“Thank you to the team [at St. Georges] for their diligence, patience and painstaking hard work in these most challenging times for [the NHS ] . The staff we encountered showed so much compassion and care under trying conditions.
“We are filled with gratitude. Our heartfelt thanks. We can’t wait for you all to meet them: much love from us. Stephen, Anj, Aphra, Sonny Rain and Remy Jude x”
