Future episodes of the BBC soap opera EastEnders will focus on Jean Slater’s love life, a star teased.
Fans of Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) were devastated earlier this year when their love for Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) coincided with a manic episode that culminated in her walking into the water wearing her wedding dress. Jean has returned to Walford after receiving treatment for the bipolar episode, and the EastEnders legend might be more amenable to romance soon than later.
EastEnders viewers were initially ecstatic to see Jean experiencing a new lease on life with Harvey.
Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), meanwhile, was growing more worried about her mother’s unpredictable behavior.
Residents of Walford simply assumed Jean was enjoying life to the fullest, but Stacey was aware of the tragic reality.
Harvey was unaware of his partner’s mental state as Jean pushed Stacey away.
Fans of EastEnders will have noticed Harvey’s longing glances at his ex-fiance in recent scenes.
Harvey saw a man speaking to Jean during Alfie Moon’s (Shane Richie) pretend wedding.
He intervened to “save” Jean, who severely chastised him for the action.
A smile on her face, though, suggested that perhaps she was still thinking about him.
At the Inside Soap Awards, Gillian and Ross both acknowledged that they “hoped” their characters would get back together.
“We’ve had the best time working together,” Ross continued. “There’s a lovely dynamic for us as actors, but I think it really works for the characters as well.
There is much more to discover, but it’s out of our control and we have no idea what will happen next.
We are aware of the two’s continued lovely connection, and I believe the material to come will demonstrate their continued affection for one another.
Will Jean and Harvey have a chance to find true love?
EastEnders viewers are eager to see the couple reunite after their brief romance.

While Harvey’s daughter Dana Monroe (Barbara Smith) is away at college, Stacey is currently in a happy relationship with Kheerat Panesar (Jaz Deol).
Eve Unwin (Heather Peace), who is renowned for her ability to find compatible partners, might persuade Stacey to assist the two in realizing their feelings for one another.
