Next week, heartbreaking scenes will reveal that Lola Pearce, a fan favorite from EastEnders, has a brain tumor.
Next week on EastEnders, Lola Pearce (played by Danielle Harold) will learn from doctors that she has a potentially cancerous tumor. Every step of the way, her boyfriend Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) will be by her side, but how will the recently reunited couple handle such devastating news?
According to BBC soap opera spoilers, Lola’s devastating storyline starts the following week when her daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown) competes in a pageant in Albert Square.
The event is not without drama as Lexi’s dress tears, necessitating the intervention of some of the Square’s helpful neighbors.
Felix Baker (Matthew Morrison) and Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) are fortunately on hand to save the day.
As the pressure to put on the pageant increases, Lola chooses to invite Tony Clay’s Callum Halfway to the kids’ show.
In order to avoid any awkward interactions with his ex-partner Ben Mitchell, Callum declines to participate (Max Bowden).
But after persistently persuading the obstinate policeman to go, he finally gives in and decides to lend his support.
All signs point to a fun night with Lola and her loved ones as Lexi’s dress is fixed and Callum prepares to join in.
Ben is unmistakably attempting to break some bad news to Callum for him, so his fears are realized.
Ben appears to be about to tell Callum something during an awkward exchange when Jay cuts them off.
Before going to the bathroom, Lola complained of having dizzy spells while in the restroom.
Lola continues to suffer and has a seizure as she collides away from the pageant and the rest of her family.
When Jay and Ben discover their friend unconscious on the bathroom floor, they dial 911.
In case the shock of Lola’s collapse wasn’t enough, Ben thinks this is the right time to speak with Callum.
Ben gives Callum some distressing news while they wait for an update on a sick Lola in the hospital.
Doctors decide to give the worried mother a CT scan following Lola’s seizure.
The doctor informs the two that they have found a tumor that may be cancerous, breaking the news to them with Jay by their sides.
How will Jay handle and respond to the shocking news given how their romance has developed over the past few weeks?
How will Lola handle her health, and will she tell her family the truth or keep it a secret?
Although Lola’s diagnosis of a brain tumor had previously been confirmed by EastEnders, the treatment plan has not.
Monday through Thursday at 7.30 p.m., EastEnders can be seen on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
